  1. What's the dress code for the PDO? I'm certain I read "business casual" in some email, but I want to make sure it's not business professional or (on the other end) jeans/tshirt!
  2. Hey!! Feel free to message me, and we can talk about the application process and stuff! I'm not leaving for the grant till March, so I don't have any idea about the actual Fulbright part yet, but I can definitely help you out with the application process
  3. Hi! Has anybody not heard from their host countries yet? I'm with Nepal, and I got the grant a month ago. I still haven't heard anything from my host country, and I'm wondering if that's normal?
  4. I was awarded the Nepal ETA, and I wouldn't be starting till March 2018! It's FOREVER waiting. I applied to a few graduate schools just in case Fulbright didn't work out. Once I was awarded the Fulbright, I contacted my department advisors at the two schools where I was admitted and interested in going (Vanderbilt and Columbia), and they both were willing to work with me. I'll be doing a semester of school (Fall 2017), taking off 2018, and then coming right back to my Master's program in Spring 2019! My program advisor at Vandy told me that they were more than willing to work with Fulbright grantees on taking leaves of absence! So if grad school is something you're interested in, definitely ask your advisor to work with you! I didn't think they would let me take a year off in the middle of the program, so I was pleasantly surprised. If that hadn't worked out, I would've just worked locally for a few months! Something to keep busy and pay bills
  5. It took a day or two for them to register me in the system! Has anybody heard back from their host country commission? I'm supposed to return the Grant Authorization Document, but I haven't received it yet! Just wondering when I should start freaking out?
  6. Jumping on this question. How do we know exactly how much we're given? Also, are Pre-Departure Orientation costs covered?
  7. I just read through some of these reviews. What do y'all think is the validity of them? I recently got admitted to TC and will visit soon, but the reviews sure made me a little wary.
  8. Same! Was there no other reason for that email? I noticed that the first email said "recommended as a semi-finalist" while this new email says "named a semi-finalist." Am I reading too much into the email or is that the next stage from the first? I noticed from the excel sheet that my country has had interviews every year in the past, but I still haven't received a notification for an interview. Should I be worried?
  9. Could anybody explain the connection between TC and Columbia University? Are TC students still considered as Columbia grads?
  10. No, I did not The first email told me to check the official website. On the official application website, there was a letter of acceptance. Earlier today, I received another email that had my official acceptance letter. Best of luck for the video conference. It would be terrible to reject over a video conference, so I'm hoping that all goes well for you! Sending you tons of positive vibes.
  11. Applying for Special Education (Intellectual Disability/Autism) here! Waiting patiently for any sort of news!!
  12. Hi! I applied to this exact program and heard back Friday morning. I was accepted! My email was sitting in the junk folder, though, so I would definitely look there and look at the official Vanderbilt website. Hope you hear good news!
  13. Yes! Got my acceptance to Vanderbilt for Special Ed. What about you two?
  14. Recommended for ETA in Nepal! Any others in Nepal?
  15. Any advice for personal letter/statement of grant purpose? I'm applying for Nepal and am really nervous about my application.
