  1. Is it the case that a Psy.D degree allows one to be every bit as much of a clinical psychologist as a PhD does, but the individual with only a Psy.D degree is just not able to be a professor also? I am trying to decide if this would be a wise degree for me to pursue because I am more interested in working as a clinical psychologist (i.e., therapist) than working in academia.
  2. Does anyone else find themselves getting "summer brain" or feeling way dumber by the end of the summer before school starts?? LOL
  3. Hey everyone, As someone who as always wanted to study abroad (but did not for my undergrad), I am wondering if it is possible to train abroad to become a clinical psychologists only to return to North America (either Canada or the USA) upon the completion of graduate schooling? I know a few people who did this for their medical schooling, but is it ever done by clinical psychologists? Thanks you guys
  4. I just asked a question earlier... but I want to clear something else up When I wrote the LSAT, it was very easy to understand how I was scoring because you could easily convert your score into its raw percentage. With the GRE, I always hear people saying things like '160 verbal and 157 quant, etc... but I have no idea what any of this actually means... Can someone explain this to me?
  5. I am taking a year off school currently in order to gain some more research experience, but I am planning on beginning my studying for the GRE general test soon. I hope to get accepted into one of the clinical programs here in Canada! My GPA is ~3.87, I have decent research and work experience, but I HATE standardized testing lol... Two years ago, I went to a clinical psychologist in order to find out if I had any LD's, and I was diagnosed with: ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, OCD, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Regardless as to whether or not you (or me) believe that I was over-diagnosed (which I may well have been), I do undeniably at least have some learning disability(ies), and I was wondering if my documentation (which I have) for these disorders would be enough to get me accommodations on the GRE? I really want to nail it, and I feel as though it is quite possible that accommodations could help someone like me who operates a little more slowly than many others out there! Does anyone have any experience applying for accommodations, know anyone who has, or have any input on whether or not I would perhaps be able to get them, or whether it is even worth bothering? Thanks everyone!!
