  1. I wish I had this kind of self control! I know checking constantly is detrimental to my mental health and my productivity at work, and yet...here I am haha.
  2. I'll jump on the bandwagon. Has anybody heard from the University of Alabama for their child clinical track? Feel free to DM me
  3. I’d also look at and read their most cited papers! Most recent papers are definitely important, but look to see what kind of impact they’ve made in the field. If they developed a method or measure that nobody else used before, or a new way to do something more effectively, etc, that’s important to know as well.
  4. Every single thing I’ve heard from mentors, current grad students in my lab, forums on here, etc are very adamant about not accepting anything until you have an official offer in writing! I would tell your POI that you’re excited about and grateful for their offer, but since it’s still early in the interview season, you aren’t ready to accept their offer. Per CUDCP guidelines, people can’t force you or guilt you into accepting offers before April 15.
  5. I'm pretty sure Purdue hasn't sent out all of their invites yet. I've been in contact with them about a missing document that I submitted but they didn't receive and they said the faculty are still reviewing applications and that the missing document wouldn't stop me from being fully considered.
  6. That's exactly the mindset I'm in! 7/8 of the programs I applied to haven't started contacting anybody yet, so I really just need to cool my jets, but I feel like going in with the mindset that I won't get any interviews will hopefully make a lovely surprise if it does happen (fingers crossed).
  7. Exactly! It's so much better than the uncertainty.
  8. Woke up to an email from University of Kentucky saying that my application is now under review, even though my POI already reached out to people to interview, which is bizarre. I love this process ?
  9. Honestly I wouldn’t. I applied too and haven’t heard anything, it seems like probably only some of the PIs have reached out so far. We also have more than a month until LSU’s interview weekend. If you haven’t heard anything by the second week of January then I would reach out, but doing it before is risky. I know it’s hard to wait though!!
  10. And me as well, if you don’t mind!
  11. I went to DePaul for undergrad and peer mentored in the psych department, so I know the I/O faculty pretty well. Let me know if you have any questions!
  12. And University of Michigan, if you don't mind!
  13. I had both a robo call and a wrong number call from the same area code as one of my top three choices! POIs do still call or else I would 100% keep my phone on silent and ignore everything other than my email for the next month. Best of luck to you too!
  14. As this appears to be a safe space for venting....WHY WOULD ALABAMA SEND OUT 'HAPPY HOLIDAY' EMAILS??????? My heart almost jumped out of my body when I saw it was UA Grad School and then it's a holiday email??? I cannot handle this haha.
  15. Honestly I don't think so. Most programs have a cut-off, but stipulate that they make exceptions. Also, most faculty don't care about GRE scores at all really. It may be an issue in the admissions office, but once they wave you through, I doubt it'll be a huge issue, at least from the faculty members I've spoken with. My understanding is that faculty care MUCH more about fit, research/clinical experience, etc. I don't think you're a definite rejection and it's also still very early the in the process to count yourself out entirely!
  16. Also we have no idea how they do mass emails. It could be a mass email for only certain PIs, like there's a pre-set departmental email and as PIs give departments their list of names, the departments send them out, etc. People may also decline interviews and then you get pulled off some sort of wait list, but probably wouldn't know this until later since it's still so early in the process. A friend who just finished his PhD in psych gave me both potential explanations and said there was likely a dozen more possible explanations. All this is to say we really don't know much about the process, which only adds to the stressful nature of the whole thing!
  17. According to this CUDCP website, it looks like they'll be held on Monday, February 3rd this cycle.
  18. If Purdue applicants who received interviews wouldn't mind sending me the initials of your PIs, I'd be really appreciative! Thank you!
  19. That’s what I was thinking too! Fingers crossed we hear soon.
  20. If the person who just posted about the University of Michigan Skype interview happens upon this, would you mind sending me your POI? Thanks in advance!
  21. And there's info on the results page from an applicant from last year who reached out when they hadn't heard anything and the person in admissions told them that they try to send out all invitations before Christmas. I'm not sure how much weight that holds, but that's the loose timeline I've been following.
  22. I haven't heard back from Yale yet either, but based on data from past years, it looks like they usually extend interview invitations before Christmas. At this point (especially given the time in New Haven), my guess is we'll hear next week!
  23. I applied to LSU and haven't heard anything yet either! I'm sure so much of it is dependent on how many applications that PI got, how long it takes them to go through the review process, etc. Based on info from past years, it looks like LSU sends notifications via PIs, not through the grad department or whatever, so there will probably be a considerable difference in when people are hearing back because of that.
  24. They're sending them out with a vengeance today! I got one too. Oh well, here's hoping for faculty with closer research interests and any school that means we don't have to live in Georgia! ?
