Just got accepted to Western's advanced standing MSW!
-
I just got invited to advanced standing MSW at UofT on Acorn!
-
I was just accepted to UW's full time online MSW on quest!
-
Mine hasn't been updated yet and my initials are SM
-
I got it now! Thank you:)
-
Oh weird, I didn't get an email saying my JOINid. I just got my applicant and student number?
-
Did anyone get information to log into ACORN for UofT?
-
Has anyone heard from Waterloo, Western, or UofT for the full-time advanced standing?
-
Does anyone know the chances of getting off the waitlist for UofT?
-
Hi guys!!! I got waitlisted at UofT! I know its not a huge deal but I'm happy I even got waitlisted considering my lack of experience compared to everyone else!
-
Has anyone heard from UofT or Laurier for the 2 year program at all?
-
Thank you so much again! Hopefully the two year admissions for UofT and Laurier come soon!
-
I hope so!! I have a feeling if I did not get into Western, I will most likely not get into UofT or Laurier!! I think I don't have enough experience!
-
Thank you so much for your kindness- you are an awesome person!
-
Same here!
-
Nice! One step closer!!
-
Did you get an email?
-
Don't worry, I'm in the same boat as you. I've read a lot of posts in past forums of people with little experience getting accepted due to their personal statement, grades, and resume. So don't worry too much!!

I'm in the same boat as you guys. I am waiting for the 2 year program at Western, Laurier, and UofT. and omg.. MID APRIL?!?!?!?? This is most definitely unnecessary stress they put on applicants.
-
Thanks that makes me feel a bit better! I have been really stressed because I was nervous about not having a ton of experience. But I am really hoping that my GPA, my research course which I got an A in, and my personal statement make a big difference. The personal statement was probably the most stressful thing about this application! Other than the wait !

That is amazing! I hope you get accepted. I just graduated from specializing in Communications. I did an international internship in community development and research in Pakistan for 2 months. I also did a full year research internship regarding social justice and wellbeing. And then I did a placement at a homeless shelter for four months. I also worked for a social service in the KW region as a Communications and Youth Program Facilitator! In terms of my grades, my GPA in my last year would be 3.7 on a 4.0 scale!

Okay so maybe I did misunderstand.. my bad! So my 2 courses that I took do count? In my last year, I took 4 courses in the fall, 5 in the winter and then the 2 summer courses.
-
Yeah unfortunately they only look at full course load which is 4 courses or more. Which sucks because I worked super hard in my summer courses and got A's because I thought they would count:(
-
I am not a 100% sure because I didn't fully understand what Angela (the admissions person) meant. She just said that because I only took 2 courses in the summer, they wouldn't count because they only look at full course loads. What do you mean by bump out 2 from the semester before? Maybe I just misunderstood her!!

Ahh that makes me feel a bit better! and yeah the personal statement took me forever, I put a loooooot of work into them!! I really think MSW programs should have interviews
