Thanks for the heads up.
-
Sure will wait for that.
-
Cool. Thanks for the input.
-
Thanks. Looks like a good fall-back option in case one gets funding etc.

Good to know that you had a great experience there. From what I've read about CIR or MAPSS etc, there is the element of name recognition and the possibility of getting LOR from experts etc. I can understand that you do not want to blame it on Chicago and that might as well be the case. Still, for prospective PhDs that's somewhat of a warning sign. No?
-
I noticed on another thread that you went to Chicago CIR. If you don't mind my asking, would you recommend others for the same? Especially now? Is it better to just apply in another PhD cycle instead?
-
Got any data on how many of those were selected?
-
Getting back to the majority demographic here, did anyone hear from the Florida State? There were a couple of acceptances on the results page. I'm assuming the cycle is over there and have crossed it out.
-
Cheer up guys! Take some inspiration from those in their second cycles. Losing hope in the first go is not the right thing to do.
-
The lucky ones should start the results thread. About time.
-
Would be great if someone could make a total number of applications to acceptance ratio for the Top 30 or something. Will help future applicants as well.

Cool

Their deadline was Jan. 15. Did you get that email before that or afterwards?
-
@Qw23 also didn't get the email yesterday. If he hasn't got it yet then I am beginning to think there was some kind of long short list made by U-Minn. Otherwise, you might not have gotten it due to some server issues. The email was very generic and sent indirectly (through the ApplybyYourself portal).
-
Really? Have you scanned your spam folders etc?
-
Any updates?
-
So those who were waiting for it have got it now?
-
Everyone got that email I assume. There might have been some delay on some email servers.
-
You haven't got that email? Don't fret. It sometimes take more time for some email servers
-
P.S. Jessie is a really nice lady. I had some issues with my application and she was very helpful. I'm assuming she just wanted to keep everyone updated about the process. From my limited personal interaction, I can safely assume the email was sent out to everyone.
-
Everyone got the same email.
-
Who does? That's part of the application cycle. I'm wondering if anyone can claim any interviews or personal emails etc. That would indicate how far along they are in the selection process.
-
The decisions were sent out around Feb. 10 last year.
-
I don't know. I really don't know.

Just got an email from UMinn saying admission decisions will be sent out the week of Feb. 19. Rejection radar on.
