    Edit: More details.

I just got a duke interview invitation for a skype interview.  I am domestic so I thought that was odd that they didn't want to fly me out.  It is a one on one interview with an assistant prof.  Maybe they aren't doing visits this year until acceptance.  I only thought I had like a 30% chance of getting interview.  Guess my 2 years of Bayesian research helped more than I thought it would.  They are interviewing top 15% as usual.

    Congratulations! That's awesome!

No Duke news for me today.   Just checked portal for rejection and there wasn't one, checked spam as well.  They are closed on Monday.  I might email them next Friday if no one has heard anything.  Hoping this doesn't mean more applications or less spots.

Nothing here either. I also have a mild fear that apps are up substantially or maybe even dramatically this year.

No Duke news for me today.  Maybe tomorrow invites will go out?  The suspense is killing me.  Has anyone heard anything (even rumors) about Duke stats interviews?

My bud has applied to Duke stats but doesn't use this site. I'll let you know if/when he hears something.

No news for me either. Thanks, @statbiostat2017.

No.  I also applied to Duke stats.   They went out 2nd week of January for the last three years.  In 2015, they sent out (some) rejections a few days before invites.   I am constantly checking my email hoping for an interview and the portal hoping not to have a rejection.  I will post on results and here too if I hear anything.  My guess is any day now since their semester starts on Wednesday.   Where else are you applying?

Sorry, I forgot to reply to this. I'm applying to 8 or 9 schools in the top 20 (vaguely defined, as Ph.D. rankings tend to be). My poor application strategy of not applying to schools that are perhaps more realistic for my profile makes the waiting process pretty nerve-wracking for me. Thanks for the signature template--I'll update my signature with details as results come in.

Do stat programs usually do interviews? I am a CS graduate applying to few Stat PhD programs so quite curious about this

I think a few programs, like Yale and Duke, do. I don't have a comprehensive list of which programs interview, but I'm willing to bet that someone in this forum would know if a particular school you applied to interviews.

Looks like Penn interview invites went out. Does this forum seem much quieter than in past years?

I thought so too, but then I looked at last year's thread. At this time last year, there were only five or so posts. Maybe we're feeling this way because we are just now entering the period of the cycle when decisions/interview invites start going out in earnest.

Has anyone heard from Duke stats yet?

This is interesting. Thank you @cyberwulf

My only question is: Is the order in which you view the materials listed on the grad admissions page?

My department/field specifically states, on most sites, that the ranking is as follows:

    SOP

Personal History paper ( if applicable)

    Letters of Rec

    Transcripts

    GRE scores

it would be sad if they followed the order you did without looking at the SOP and letters of recommendation first. That seems unfair in my opinion.

It might be worth noting that this thread is in the Mathematics and Statistics sub-forum and that @cyberwulf is a biostatistics professor speaking about their own method of evaluation. Based on your profile, it seems like you are applying to anthropology or archaeology programs. I wouldn't be surprised if they tend to review applications differently.
