  1. Thank you! I hope you hear some good news soon as well. I guess I'm rejected from NYU. When I spoke with someone in the department at Albany, I was told that there's a good chance I'd get off the waitlist for funding. They wanted to know if I'm really interested in attending. I'm sorry. I'm hoping you get off the waitlist at Emory. Since I have no hope for acceptance from Yale, UPenn, and Princeton, I just called Temple. The nice secretary told me that my file is under review and to call back if I don't hear from them by the end of the month. Commute to Philly from NYC is better than commute to Albany from NYC.....
  2. Haven't heard anything from UPenn, either. CUNY and Columbia haven't even sent me official rejections yet. This waiting period is stressing me out! The only school I have heard from is the one that had a 1/15 deadline. How have you been holding up? I'm sorry. I'm expecting a rejection as well :/
  3. Congratulations! Ithaca is a lovely city
  4. Congratulations to you and your partner on the new addition to your family! My partner is in a demanding physical sciences PhD program in the city and cannot relocate, so I only applied to the schools around NYC. I'm already dreading the potential 2-3 hour commute, though :/ I accidentally missed the deadline for Rutgers, and didn't apply to Stony Brook because I didn't want to take TOEFL again. My choices are very limited. Anyways, I hope we hear some positive news soon!
  5. Let's keep the friendly and supportive atmosphere, folks I think everyone is stressed waiting to hear back, but we should treat each other with respect.
  6. I'm assuming a rejection from Columbia. Congratulations to those who got accepted! So far I've only gotten accepted, but waitlisted for funding at Albany. I haven't heard back from NYU, Temple, UPenn, Uconn, and Princeton. It sucks when the choice of schools you can apply to is limited. I can't relocate :/ Is everyone planning on moving close to the school you'll be attending?
  7. This is making me nervous. I wonder if they are sending rejections soon.
  8. I didn't post on the result board, but I called and inquired. The person I spoke with was implying that all acceptances had been sent out.
  9. I didn’t even get waitlisted at CUNY. Even though I said I wouldn’t go there without finding at the interview, it feels bad to be rejected.
  10. I'm doing the same. Hang in there. You haven't heard back from all the programs you applied to.
  11. I got accepted to the New School without funding. I didn’t apply to schools outside NYC because I can’t relocate due to personal reasons. There’s no way I’ll get into NYU or Columbia. It’s time for me to start looking for a job while writing my master’s thesis. Best of luck, everyone!
  12. They wanted a clear answer to the question, so I said no.
  13. A CUNY interview update. They can only fully fund 8 students and accept 7 more with a tuition waiver. I was asked if I’d be willing to attend without a fellowship. I don’t think I can do that. I hope they give my spot to someone soon.
  14. I just received an email from CUNY asking for an interview. It took me so long to finish undergrad, and my GPA is horrible. My GRE scores are not that great, either. I have no research experience. My jaw dropped when I saw the email. Keep your head up, everyone!
  15. I'm sorry for not checking this thread earlier. I just messaged everyone.
  16. Hello, I'm applying for the first time, and getting very nervous. Would someone be willing to exchange and critique each other's statement of purpose?
