Rejected from UCSD this morning.

Just checking in with everyone! Only update from me so far is an acceptance to U of Memphis, still waiting on Indiana and Brooklyn (I know some folks started receiving brooklyn acceptances so I don't think I was accepted). Any updates from anyone else? Good luck to everyone!

Hi! If this helps anyone-the FAFSFA is delayed until Mid-March so many people I know are not hearing from schools that sent out acceptances (and rejections) earlier previous years- especially if the school you’re applying to uses FAFSFA for funding, MFAs especially want to send out an offer with the acceptance and they can’t until they get the FAFSFA info-what a year to apply 🫠

I’m a finalist at Northwestern, and I’m dying over here waiting for the email. Decision timeline was “early last week if either yes or no,” but that timeline has been amended to “this week” and I’m on the edge of my seat

HI Eccyclema, congrats on the interviews!! I hope you've got some really good news coming your way : ) I applied to columbia, yale, ucsd, and calarts last year and didn't get an interview anywhere. Just how it goes sometimes. I can tell you pretty confidently my current school is nowhere close to being on your list, and probably anyone's list, although I'd still love to chat!

I got my acceptance to Brooklyn College yesterday and they shut down the whole school due to a Carona Virus case yesterday. So there is still hope for a response in these trying times.

Hey Friends!
So here is my update...
About a week after my "follow up" call with Iowa, I was given an offer to join their program and was given until March 2 to say yay or nay...Which was a little tough as I was still waiting to hear back from Indiana. I finally did hear from Indiana and was asked for a 2nd interview via Zoom with the faculty, initially saying they wanted to schedule it on March 10th...Our email communication was very spotty, as in many times I was left waiting with no response or information for extended periods of time. I tried to "check-in" as often as I could without feeling like I was being annoying, since time is definitely of the essence right now...I ended up getting an email late last night saying that the faculty voted to offer the spot in the program to someone else - before even going through the process of giving me a 2nd interview. *smh*
Thankfully I had already accepted the offer from Iowa and didn't miss out on that opportunity, but I'm still a little baffled by Indiana's recruitment/application/interview/communication process.
I'm excited about Iowa and especially excited to meet the other 3 directors chosen - if any of you lovely humans are going to be attending Iowa with me in the Fall please let's get in touch...This New Yorker knows ABSOLUTELY NO ONE in Iowa or the Midwest so please please let's be friends!!!
@Eccyclema I am SO sorry about FSU that is insane! Did they fly you out to Florida or did you have to pay for that flight out of pocket? Whoa, I would have been so extremely pissed off about money and time wasted - how rude of them, I feel like if they knew this beforehand they should have, at least, told you so before you flew out there. WOW.

Feeling the frustration with you all. 7 first interviews, 1 second interview, 1 wait list. I've just assumed that since I didn't get a second interview with the other 6 that I'm out of the running too. I suppose there's still a chance to hear from UNCG, but I'm not holding my breath.
I got wait listed for East 15, which is alright. I wasn't super sure I'd be able to go out there or that it would be a great fit for me, but I was very grateful for the follow up interview and the quick wait list notification regardless.
I agree that it would be nice to not be kept in the dark and just be told "Thanks, but no thanks at this time," much earlier in the process.
If it helps anyone any: I've read and heard from multiple sources that grad schools often like to see candidates apply multiple times. Sometimes it takes 3 - 5 rounds of applications and interviews before you get the spot, and many people receiving the spots you got rejected for this time around have applied and interviewed multiple times in the past. If you really want it go for it again! You can do it! I believe in you!

I'd say this is one of the craziest things I've seen in these situations. These people spent the time, money, and effort to apply, visit, and/or interview with you. Take the 10 second to reject them instead of leaving them in the gray. 
 
I know some places try to keep their options open in case people back out. Still tacky in my opinion. Do what some other programs do and create a waiting list for that purpose. 

I got notified by Brooklyn College that I got in and decided to accept. He did tell me though that he hasn’t offered the other two slots yet, but should be in the next week. I hope that helps. 

Northwestern update: Received a rejection through e-mail.
Just waiting to hear back from Yale now. I was under the impression that people were notified about acceptances, rejections, and waitlisting the week after the final callbacks, but it's now been a full two weeks since the callbacks and still nothing. Looking forward to hearing if anybody on here knows of anyone who attended the final callback who has heard back one way or the other.

Long time lurker here. I only applied to Brooklyn College this year so kinda late to the process in general. I have my interview next week. Anyone have any advice who interviewed with them at the URTAS or over the last few weeks? What kind of questions did they ask?

I was accepted, not sure to whom they've sent them or how many spots they've offered. Typically only 2 are admitted. 

Doing my UCLA callback via Zoom. Live streaming a scene for them. Theres a first for everything lol

Break legs to all who have finalist interviews this weekend!  I for one am nervous as hell!  

Michael is so great - I did a Shakespeare workshop with both him and Rodney Cottier in the Fall when I was first applying. So awesome. 

Just got an invite to visit U Mass Amherst for their Directing program. I am extending my stay in Boston and doing a little self-drive to western Mass' to visit with them.
No word on Indiana yet...
