Just got an email saying I was waitlisted for CMU, surprising since I didn't receive any follow-up after my Skype interview, but more heartening than an outright rejection for sure!

That's awesome!!!  Training in Hawaii weather, would be kinda amazing.  Congrats!

Did anyone hear from UT Austin yesterday about finalist interviews? It looks like many are experiencing the sinking feeling I am that there was a great energy in the interview and then radio silence yesterday.
^^Edited - just heard about a finalist interview for UT - so those notifications are going out today
And has anyone received an interview notification from UCSD?
^^Edited - they are in the second round of interviews now, so that's not happening this year. C'est la vie.

UT was a top pick for me too, but this year will be brutal since they are only accepting one director.

UCSD: Got an e-mail two days ago letting me know I will not be moving on to a second interview.
Yale: Got a phone call last week inviting me to the final callback.
Northwestern: Just did my first interview yesterday.

Congratulations on all of the interviews and acceptances! I am a Dramaturgy applicant, but I’ve been lurking here as there is no forum for us. 
 
Has anyone applied to and heard from UMass Amherst? It’s my top school and I haven’t heard anything about interviews yet. Getting a little anxious ?

No Second Interview at Yale for me either.
I had my UT Austin interview this morning, they said they will be letting people know on Friday about second round or not.

I found this forum super helpful when applying, so thought I'd chime in. 
First time applying and I applied to UT Austin, Yale, and BK College. 
I had my first Yale interview on Monday, they told me I would hear next week about callbacks which happen the last weekend of February.
I just (I mean like 10 minutes ago) heard back from UT Austin about a first interview. I did not apply through URTAs
BK College isn't due until February 1st, but I live close by so I've already done a drop in class and the program director told me he'd reach out in early February to schedule my official interview. 
I hope any of that is helpful for anyone waiting on those schools, and good luck to everyone. 

So responses from URTAS are really heating up. I have got interviews from Iowa and Texas State so far, in addition to an invitation to visit FSU. 
Crossing my fingers that I hear from at least 2 more!

Now that CMU interviews are over, what were everyone’s impressions?

Twin Cities based here (hey @CatMeow!) I applied to the Chicago URTas this year and will be leaving on Thursday. I got interviews with all the schools I sent letters two besides two (UCLA & FSU). I have interviews with BU, Iowa, Indiana, ISU, UNCG, and UT Austin. I also got interviews from Northwestern, Texas State, and the 15 Acting school. I did not get interviews at UCLA and FSU, where I did send letters to.
I also applied to Yale, UCSD, U Mass Amherst, and UW Seattle. I have not heard back from any of those schools. so probably did not get a Yale interview or one from UCSD.

Just got a Skype interview Request from CMU! Good luck to everyone hoping to hear from them!

Hoping my info can put some minds at ease:
Yale - Had first interview last week. (I was notified in late Dec). The latest date I was offered was Jan 17, so first round at least runs through then. 
CMU - Received an email today saying I never submitted my official transcript (OOPS). Hopefully some production communication coming soon! Email did mention that directing candidates would be notified by Feb 1
Northwestern - Received a rejection today. Womp! 
VA Tech - Based on others' experiences, I don't expect to hear anything until April

Also - If it helps to know: Yale had interviews as late as February when I scheduled mine... And @CatMeow in regards to an earlier question: I'd say it's pretty common to apply multiple times. The grad students I spoke to this year at each college definitely had several rounds (only 1 lucked out with 1 year 1 school!).

Heard from DePaul today!  Interviewing on campus Sat. Feb. 15.  Anyone hear from anyone else? @Eccyclema I didn't apply to Yale so I don't know all the specifics but recently was having a conversation with a UCSD MFA graduate that is here in the Twin Cities, who said not to lose hope if you don't get in the first round of interviews with some schools that doesn't always mean anything as they may feel their first selection wasn't a good fit or vice versa.  That gave me relief anyway!  

I just had my interview with UCSD over Skype this morning. Happy to answer any questions anybody has about what that was like. Was told it'll be a few weeks until I hear about a potential second interview.
I got a phone call late last week about a first interview at Yale. Flying out to New Haven late next week for that. Browsing through past threads to help me prepare for that one. This site has been an invaluable resource.
Northwestern is the only school I have yet to hear back from.
