  1. I’m in the 3yr program. I’m not set on a concentration yet. I wish I could do it all, but I know that as the program goes on, I’ll learn what I’ll want to 100% focus on. Yeah I plan to stay for the entire thing!
  2. It starts at 8:30 and will go until 3pm, I believe the last two hours are mostly for 2yr students who need to take care of their internship interviews. Are you part of the 2 or 3 yr program?
  3. Did anyone rsvp to the May 5th orientation?
  4. I applied in mid November and heard back on 1/29/18. I haven’t emailed yet but will try calling again next week. Good to know there’s an FB Page! I’m going to search for it. Thanks!
  5. Same here! When did you get your aceptance email? I just called to see if they have an update but they have an automated message saying they’re currently not taking calls. I guess I’ll tentatively plan for the date you were notified of until l I can get a hold of someone. Congrats to you! I can’t wait for Fall to come around.
  6. Which cohort were you accepted into? What about you, Angie20? My email just said the date was TBD. So hopefully I hear soon about it.
  7. Has anyone else who’s been accepted created their CSULB account? I’m wondering if they’ll be notifying us of the orientation date through our personal or CSULB email. If anyone knows how that’s done, feel free to chime in.
  8. Hello! In case anyone else is wondering too, here are my stats. I got a BA in Sociology with a minor in Queer Studies in 2015. I had an overall GPA of 2.99, but my major GPA was somewhere around 3.25. During college, I interned and volunteered in the community with homeless people and sexual abuse victims. After graduating, I worked with children who have autism. Then I did employment services/case management for the Department of Rehabilitation. I then went on to being a case manager for my county’s Wraparound program working with at-risk youth and their families. Currently, I work with the county as an eligibility worker. I can also confidently say I worked really hard on my statement this time around and made it really geared towards how my experience and my future goals fit into the demands of the program. I sent my app in mid November and heard back earlier this month. The whole process after being offered admission took about a week, including getting the acceptance emails from the department and the graduate school and submitting the checklist accepting it.
  9. Congratulations!!! It took until the next business day which was a Monday for me. Well, technically that was when the department reached out to me about the acceptance checklist. The actual graduate school sent theirs a few days after that. Hope this helps!
  10. Thank you! I applied for the 3yr program back in November.
  11. I GOT ACCEPTED! I haven’t received the offical email yet but I checked my application status and was finally greeted by something other than the option to send an email update. I’m ecstatic to say the least!
  12. The SW department received my packet on 11/13. Prior to that, I had received the email from the school saying my application was forwarded to the department. I’ve yet to hear anything back after my packet was received. I check everyday but I only ever get the option to get the generic update email. So more waiting I suppose! I applied for 2015 but I had graduated that same year, my statement was weak, and I only had a couple of months of internship experience so here’s to hoping the last two years of hard work have paid off. Good luck everyone!
  13. Hello! I figured I’d jump in and be helpful. https://cmsweb.cms.csulb.edu/psc/HLBPRDA/EMPLOYEE/SA/c/LB_HR_CUSTOM.LB_GLC.GBL?Page=LB_GLC_START&Action=U&TargetFrameName=None Did they give you any other information whether they’ve gotten to reviewing your app? I’m still waiting too.
  14. Congrats on that update from CSULB! May I ask when you submitted your application? I also applied for Fall 2018
