  1. Okay, yeah same program. I forget theirs is ScM. Well, I got rejected, too. At least now I know! I have offers with partial scholarship from Duke and Washington University in St. Louis and I visit Duke next week. Wondering if I should even bother visiting St. Louis or go ahead and accept Duke's offer.
  2. Oops I made the assumption you were referencing Duke Biostatistics MS. If you weren't, ignore my previous reply
  3. Where does it indicate online you were rejected? Is this for biostatistics? I applied for the MS in Biostatistics and it says mine is still under review. I'm expecting a rejection but I need to know one way or another so I can finish planning my school visits... JHU is my top choice.
  4. I found out February 16th, they're flying me out for a visit day next Friday. However, I've seen a few other people report here on the results search admissions for Duke MS after I found out, so I think they were rolling them out in batches.

  6. Congrats! I went to FSU for undergrad. I applied for MS in Biostat programs for this fall, with FSU being my back up. I've yet to hear back from FSU but its time I get out of Tallahassee and I've been admitted elsewhere already.
  7. I know most in this thread are PhD applicants, but today I was notified by both Duke and Washington University in St. Louis that I was accepted to their Masters of Biostatistics programs. Both offering $10k scholarships.
  8. For PhD or MS, or both? I applied for MS. I'm expecting a rejection, but either way haven't heard anything.
  9. Hello! Another year and a half later... I am finishing up applications now for biostat programs. I've been thinking my GRE scores are acceptable (V: 160 84th percentile, Q: 167 92nd percentile) and my letters of recommendation should all be strong (I've been given one to read and it is very, very strong). However my GPA isn't the best. My undergraduate degree is in statistics and while my statistics courses had no issues with grades, a few math courses were a "miss" (not calculus or linear algebra, though). In this case, would work experience in a data & research office and/or SoP help outweigh the GPA being a weaker part of my application? Other things to maybe consider: 1) I've taken a few courses after earning my degree, some of them graduate level statistics courses, and have done well. 2) About a year after graduating with my bachelors degree I was diagnosed with dysthymia and its suspected I have mild anxiety. While all of that is well under control now, it certainly played a negative roll in the end of my undergraduate career. Should this be briefed in my SoP?
