No luck for me. A bit disappointed since I thought my leadership score would be the highest given some of mt past experiences (designing policy for a country, organizing national conferences, president of student club, etc) but I only got a 4.6! And similarly, didn’t expect to get a 6 on research potential but it was my highest score ... ah well. Here’s hoping for SSHRC!

Emailed! We regret that, due to some administrative challenges, the results for the 2017-2018 Vanier competition have been delayed. The secretariat is diligently working on the release of results, which is slated to take place during the first two weeks of April. We apologize for the delay, and thank you for your comprehension.

Well find out in the first two weeks of April. I just heard back from vanier...

I agree completely.... I wish we just had a defined date at this point! I'm starting to think perhaps they didn't finalize the winners yet and thats why they needed to push the date back to april....just a guess though.

Sad to admit, I had lol and it doesn’t update daily. I think it was February something before this!

I just noticed, once you sign into ResearchNet and click into your Vanier application, it shows the date modified as March 28 at the bottom of the page...... can anyone spot what was modified?

I had emailed inquiring and got back "end of march".... but that was awhile ago now..

WOW, this is a game changer!! Throws off my countdown completely haha! I think I saw on a gradcafe thread from a prior year that some departments knew before students, but I can't remember if that was Vanier or SSHRC...

I find that link to the Waterloo page really interesting (and possibly incorrect or misleading), since there is actually no spot on the Vanier application to list that many pubs... On the application, you are instructed to only include 5, so I only included one of each type (e.g. article, conference presentation, poster presentation). How about you guys? Where were you able to include all that info? I'm guessing the Waterloo page is including current stats for Vanier winners, meaning, they may not have had this many pubs when they applied. My two cents.

Do you know if this is a snail mail letter? Or electronic? I'm just thinking if it's snail mail, maybe it will come sooner than March 30

I've inquired and they said "end of March"! So, I'm going to count down to March 30/31 .......... 23 days left!

Thanks! I just checked what research net says online, it updated to "in peer review". I am so anxious about the results! Some days I think I have no chance because my demonstrated research and academic excellence sections are relatively weak, whereas other days I think my leadership section will outshine the others... who knows! Wish 77 days could come sooner lol
