I didn't come from an anthro background so another issue I'm having is simply determining the rankings, and the reputations of the different departments/how they're perceived in the field. Is there any value in NRC rankings? Or another resource?

Hello all, In going through the interview/admission process, I keep going back to this question. For anthropology, how much do rankings matter and/or predict securing a permanent position after graduation?

Wow, sounds fascinating! I'm interested in issues around environment/sustainability in Southwest Asia and North Africa. Did my MA and have been working in a non-academia related industry the last couple of years.

I applied to both Berkeley and Stanford for sociocultural -- the only program I've heard back from so far re: an interview has been UC Irvine.
