  1. Hahaha @BStat we are all flying blind. So far, I've been looking into pod-style apartments, as well as sites such as roomster.com and easyroommate.com Ideally, I'd like to find 1 or 2 roommates and live in an apt near UW, but that seems unfeasible at the moment, since one should definitely visit a space before leasing it. Still, I'm waiting and hoping that there will be relatively inexpensive places available at the end of the summer.
  2. @BStat at the moment I'm looking at a bunch of roommate websites -- people who have a place and need roommates/tenants post there. Plus@bigfluffybearcat and I are looking to hunt for an apartment together as well. Fingers crossed that we'll like what we find!

Thank you @dataseis! This is really helpful. I've found a bunch of places online, and this helps to narrow down my choices ?
  4. Hi @BStat, have you considered your housing options? I am from India as well, and I was wondering how you are going about looking for a place to stay

Hello, does anyone have advice for international students moving to UW? I am trying to get an idea of the kinds of neighborhoods where I can afford to live (money- and distance/time-wise), and I was wondering how dependable the light rail is, and whether I can rent a place in maple leaf or downtown, without having to spend too much time commuting. I'm also looking for roommates, but gradcafe seems to have a largely quiet UW community Does UW have its own discussion threads elsewhere? I'm not entirely confident about contacting strangers on roommate search sites -- although I have done so -- and it'd be way more reassuring to meet other grad students via grad forums than craigslist.
  6. Hi! I will be joining the psych department for a PhD in social/personality psychology.
