My main AOI is Philosophy of Psychology, and philosophical questions in AI (I applied to Florida with the idea of potentially focusing on AI ethics). I'm interested in experimental/applied philosophy in general

Anyone have any thoughts on University of Florida? Just got an offer but its a bit of a wildcard given the PhD program is only just reopening!

Is anyone else on here considering an offer from UIUC?

Me. Also in this position with Arizona, Rutgers, UConn, Fordham and UCSD. Very frustrating!

This whole process is such a mystery. I think some programs wait to reject people they might still consider until they hear back from their first round of offers - perhaps that's what happened to you with ND. Good luck to you too!

Still haven't had a decision from CUNY, does this mean I may be on an invisible waiting list? Considering they seem to have sent a bunch of rejections today...

Saw someone just posted a CUNY acceptance on fb - does anyone know if they send their acceptances out all at once or if there's still hope of good news?

Ah, it sounds like you're pretty committed to this path then - hope things work out for you!!

At least we can all rest assured that anyone bright enough to be even a theoretical candidate for a PhD in Philosophy will be able to do well at some other graduate career path - one that is also probably far more financially rewarding (even if not intellectually)!

At least they sent an email at all - despite discovering my updated status (rejected) on Yale's online portal last week, I still haven't had an email notifying me of such...

Would it be crazy not to visit departments before deciding? Even if I can get them to pay for my flights from London, I'm concerned about taking the time off work as I don't get paid leave - and at the moment my finances are extremely tight!

So far I've had an acceptance (with full funding) from UIUC, and no news at all from any of the other 11 I applied to. Seem to have managed to apply to all the places that give responses out late! This is unbearably stressful but at least we know it'll all be behind us soon! Anyone here claim the other UIUC acceptance and wouldn't mind telling me what your AOIs are?

Hi all, I'm just wondering whether anyone has any insight as to why Yale seems to have sent out a round of rejections before acceptances? Especially as the stats of those reporting do not seem to indicate that these rejections were on the basis of any kind of GRE/GPA cut-off. Just going crazy waiting for responses and would appreciate whatever information I can get in the meantime! (I applied to Yale expecting to not get in, but now I'm wondering whether not having a rejection yet when others have is a good sign that I'm at least being seriously considered?) I also wonder whether anyone knows how US grad schools tend to regard UK transcripts. Do they convert it to a GPA based on each module mark, or overall mark? Thanks, and good luck everyone!
