Hi everyone,
It's my first round applying to clinical psych PhD programs (I will honestly have to apply again next year at this rate...), and this whole process has been so nerve-wracking to say the least I have one interview offer (which I'm really excited for actually, since it's among my top choices!). But as of now, I have 4 official rejections (e-mails, letters) and 7 pending (portal just says "submitted", etc), which is very discouraging since I felt my stats were decent (160V/157Q, 5.0W; 3.94 clinical psych Masters GPA; 3.87 undergrad GPA; 4+ years research experience with internationally recognized PIs, 2 publications, 10 poster presentations).
My question is.... at this point, is it most likely just going to be a rejection e-mail in March or April? Or is it somehow still possible to get on a "waitlist" in March or April without going on an interview in Jan/Feb? I don't know if I should just lose hope or if I shouldn't give up completely just yet. My guess (especially from reading past posts) is that it seems people end up on wait-lists AFTER going on an interview (in Jan/Feb), and that waitlists rarely happen for those who don't interview.... but just wanted to ask.
Thank you for your help!!
