I think on March 10th I'm going to solicit any department I haven't heard from. And then, I don't know, go to China or something.

Having joined this forum on Friday, I just received some sort of automated prize for "best content" for February 25th due to the number of likes I received from you all. Now I can no longer say I didn't get anything out of this process.

Personally I am strongly opposed to interviews in graduate applications. I don't think they would track academic ability or potential much, and instead unjustly hurt the chances of many classes of applicants. Those with superior social skills and the ability to project confidence will do better, as will those who happen to hit it off well with the professor(s) interviewing them from a social perspective, even if they aren't the best substantive candidates. Those who are quicker on their feet in the moment will be rewarded. Furthermore, those who are not applying while still in undergrad/a masters program will be rustier and won't be able to as easily draw on past knowledge in these conversations.

Not necessarily. Their acceptances trickled out over many days, so there's a chance it's similar with the waitlists.

This process just humiliates you over and over again. They can't even just attach your decision in an email like civilized people.

I still have only two actual decisions out of fourteen applications. Is anybody else this low?

None of the rejections listed were via phone. You may have been admitted somewhere else! Or maybe it was just a friend or a telemarketer.

I've got no friends and bad credit, so fingers crossed.
