I didn’t get it either...the negative comments were that I didn’t have any publications or presentations, though I mentioned that I was in the processes of writing up a pub, and that I had limited actual completed broader impacts. But my third reviewer said I had a promising future! So that was nice! Congrats to everyone that got it and best wishes to everyone else that didn’t.

I don't know what is worse...knowing you'll be awake for it , knowing you'll wake up to it, the loss of sleep from it or the panicked waking up in the middle of the night. It is possible that all are equally terrible!

Someone in my lab got married and changed her name but on the list it still has her maiden name. I think she applied and got HM while she was still unmarried though. But I don’t think there should be an issue. It must’ve come up at some point previously so there has to be a procedure for it. Also, congrats!

Yeah I’m in Central standard time and I could possibly stay up but I’ll probably end up waking up in the middle of the night to check!

So I got denied outright from NDSEG but does anyone know if they give you reviewer comments from when it went through the initial panel? I’d like to know what they thought and how I can improve for next years application.

I had a dream last night about the GRFP too! I dreamt I didn’t get the award. They told me I was in group 2 but I also didn’t get an honorable mention. Then my reviews were like “the references were not alphabetized” and that was why I didn’t get it. It was rough. And then I woke up in a panic and checked my email to see that there was nothing there.

Maybe maintenance tomorrow? Or no maintenance needed anymore? Or they’ll just surprise us in the middle of the night tonight?

Completely agree! I would be pleasantly surprised if they announced it during the day but if their goal is to not crash their website with people flooding in to see if they got it or not the best best is for a middle of the night announcement.
