Has anyone else here applied to University of Houston? When do you think they start getting back to people? They had a pretty late deadline (Jan 15)
I haven't heard anything. They're a pretty top shelf program though, so I'm not feeling too confident tbh?

Anyone know what to expect from Open House/Visit Weekends?
Are they more of a formality or are they genuine interviews? The University where I was invited only carries out their Open House for a day, and my POI described it as essentially a chance to meet the graduate students and faculty.
Not too sure what to expect honestly. -
Has anyone heard anything from Clemson or Florida Tech?
-
Don't you all just wish we could fast forward ahead to mid-March? All of our pressing questions would be answered by then, and we could start picking destinations.
A man can dream lol. -

Nothing from Clemson on my end.

Anyone heard from anywhere today?

Hey all!
So today I was invited to attend Auburn's open house event on March 1st!
If anyone else plans to attend let me know - it'd be neat to know some names prior to the actual event. I'd also love to know your POI if you're comfortable sharing! -
Interview with Auburn today went - I thought - really well!
Was told they'll be conducting interviews until early next week and then offers for Open House will be sent out.- Joegeo and psychedpsyched

Honestly all this waiting has made me wish that I would have applied to more programs. But alas, I couldn't afford it.
Also my situation with LSU ended up being rather odd. I interviewed and was told that I was one of the top applicants, but that it came down to a difference in fit and that I wouldn't be interviewed unless people started to drop... which sucks since I was in contact with my POI for 6 months and some change.
Sure hope I hear something ~good~ this week.
Applied: Bowling Green, CSU, LSU, Clemson, UCF, Houston, UGA, Auburn, Florida Tech
Accepted Waitlisted Rejected**Interviewed in person, I mean.

What a stressful time lmao. All is quiet on my end, which I'm sure isn't a good thing.

Congratulations! good luck with your interview!
I hope you are right. I suppose I am just realising that it is completely possible I will be rejected from every institution for precisely the reasons you mentioned. But there's no way to know, so I no point agonising over it!
Thank you! The interview went really well!
I'll be pulling for you my friend. You're gonna be just fine ?
Also, did anyone applying to LSU also interview today? In addition, who is your POI? -

How are people feeling about their applications?
I am really terrified that I won't get in anywhere. I don't know what I will do if that happens as I am getting in debt just to make applications. I know the chances are good that I will be rejected by all of them since I am not an outstanding candidate.
Is there anyone who has made applications multiple year in a row?Feeling pretty good, I have an interview tomorrow with LSU!
Also - define "outstanding candidate." Admissions committees for PhD programs in Psychology are holistic, so they take into account all your strengths and weaknesses, with different programs valuing different things. The strength of everyone else applying is equally important. I'm sure you're going to be A okay my friend! -
Following since deadlines have started passing by!

Hey guys!
So while it's the middle of summer, I feel like it's never too early to start chatting about graduate application season coming up this Fall, particularly within I/O Psychology. I know I'm anxious, I don't know about you guys!?
I was curious on what some of y'alls stats (GPA, GRE) were, your research experiences, and where you wanna go! Who knows, maybe we can give each other good advice in terms of different universities and their faculty/labs and what not. I know there was a thread like this last year, figured I'd start one up for this year.
So I suppose I'll start:
Undergrad GPA: 3.58; last sixty hours: 3.76
GRE: 160 V, 153 Q, 4 AWA
Research: I've worked in a human factors lab dealing with transportation psychology for over a year now. I have 10 conference presentations under my belt, with two as first author. I'm currently working on my Undergraduate Honors Thesis dealing with the relationship between counterproductive work behavior and organizational citizenship behavior, and how moral identity moderates this relationship (i..e., how prevalent are moral traits in individuals who offset their deviant behavior with supra-role behavior, and do the prevalence of these traits actually cause a CWB->OCB relationship).
In grad school I wanna expand on my organizational behavior research beyond CWB and OCB, and try and encompass leadership styles as well. I'm also really interested in occupational health studies!
Desired Universities (all PhD)
UGA
FIT
CSU
UCF (where I currently study)
USF
BGSU
Clemson
LSU
TAMU
Penn State
Houston
Auburn
I'd love to hear from y'all!

I'm still praying I get at least one or two. There's still a good chunk of schools I haven't heard from yet, and do I have a visit weekend planned in March.
Anyone else having a real tough time trying to be optimistic?
