To all of the future UVic MPA students. Does anyone have any interesting news to report? Things have been pretty quite since my acceptance for the On-Campus program and I just want to make sure I have not missed anything.
Cheers,
Honestly, not much! When I emailed to accept my offer I told them that I would be mailing my deposit soon as well.
They replied saying: "Thank you, we have added you to our list of program attendees for the fall and we will let you know when we have received your deposit".
That is all the info that I have for now...
So I just talked to UVic and they made a clerical error with my application. Apparently they sent me an acceptance to the On-Campus program on April 23 however I just got it now!
I have until Friday to confirm (which I will accept!). So I am kind of scrambling right now but I am also super excited!!!!!!!
Anyone know if UVic has sent any of their final offers?
I am aware that they have sent most of their acceptance letters out. I am just curious if anyone has received a rejection letter of some sort. It would be nice to get some closure as my application is still pending... considering it is almost May it would be nice to just have some clarity...
Thanks for the info! At least I am not alone. I am currently employed by the BC Public Service which is great experience in itself. And at the end of the day if I do not get accepted I still have a job to build upon my experience. However, I am starting to hit a wall in my career where my areas of interest in the public service (policy) rely heavily on their applications having an MPA or something along those lines. What made UVic fascinating to me was the Co-op experience. Almost everyone I have met that did their co-ops with the BC Gov got hired right when they finished their degrees.
First time poster here - I am in the same boat. I only applied to UVic because I live in Victoria and would like to stay here. My on campus application is still under review so things aren't looking bright for me either.
What kind of experience do you have? My GPA isn't the best which might be hurting me. My last two years of my undergrad BA (Political Science) works out to about a 3.5 (B+ average) which is the minimum requirement.
I do have 2 years' of public sector experience though...
