  1. Hi, everyone! I'm super interested in pursuing a career in genetic counseling, but I do not have an undergrad degree in biological sciences or genetics. Since this field is so competitive, I was wondering if schools prefer that students from non-traditional backgrounds go back and get a second degree in bio or something similar. I'm going to take the prerequisite courses no matter what, but I was wondering if my efforts would be wasted if I don't officially get that second degree. Any help would be appreciated
