  1. Hi all! I just released an offer from Central Michigan University, so there may be movement on the waitlist soon. Their open house is the first week of March.
  2. Do you mind if I ask the initials of your POI? PM is fine too! Thank you ?
  3. Well.. received an acceptance email from Central Michigan University and a rejection from UNC Charlotte. It's been a big week of hearing back!
  4. I was able to confirm that Bowling Green is much later this year. I don't believe they've sent out initial acceptances yet.
  5. I have some questions for those of you who applied to Organizational Behavior programs... Would any of you mind DM'ing me? Mostly just about your intentions post-PhD and your preference between IO and OB. My POI from IU's OB program let me know that I'll be receiving an offer next week... which is great (actually beyond great, with this being my 2nd application cycle, I'm thrilled) but it's also my only OB program, so I have some decisions to make (I should say maybe... this could be my only offer). Thank you ?
  6. Still haven't heard from Mason- didn't apply to DePaul. I think this is going to be a big week! Hoping so, anyway! Wishing everyone good luck!
  7. Sorry to hear that ? On the bright side, you still have interviews and several schools you haven't heard from! Was Rice high on your list? Also- see you at IUPUI visit day! Who's your POI for IUPUI?
  8. Oh noooo.... what now?? Such a terrible/great problem to have, lol.
  9. Anyone heard anything from Bowling Green? It seems a bit late for them, I assume initial acceptances will go out next week if they haven't already.
  10. I haven't heard anything from Mason. Looking back to previous years, it seems like they should be sending out interview emails soon. Has anyone had their interviews yet? If so, how did they go? My interview with my POI at IUB Kelley went really well, I thought. They said they will be interviewing people and determining who to invite to "second interviews" which I assume is their replacement for recruitment weekend, since it's centered around applicants meeting faculty and current students. They said I'd hear back in Feb if I was invited to that. Hopefully I'll have heard back from some other programs before then!! These next few weeks into early Feb seem like peak weeks to hear back.
  11. That would be awful of them to leave you hanging like that... you'd think they'd let you know one way or another. I haven't heard from them at all- so you must certainly be higher up on the list than most everyone else ?
  12. Just scheduled an interview for Friday with my POI at IUB Kelley School for OBHRM! Really surprised to hear back from them but super excited.
  13. How's it going for everyone? All I've heard so far is that Central Michigan U emailed my LOR writer and said I was a strong candidate. I saw someone had posted that ODU scheduled an interview with them, congrats! Their app was just due on the 5th of Jan, so you must have a really strong application! Anyone else heard back or completed interviews at this point?
  14. So I'm just finishing up my application for ODU (due tomorrow) and I'm noticing there's nowhere to upload a resume or CV... and the statement of purpose is limited to 500 words... and they are waiving GRE requirement. So I guess I'm wondering how they're going to evaluate applicants at all? Anyone else applying to Old Dominion?
  15. Good info to know! Thanks for sharing ? My POI there is MA. I've added a link to a Google Drive below with some resources we share with students. I work at an all STEM school, so some of the interview questions may not apply. I also included some for job interviews, which may or may not apply. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YBFWhVt_2CHvBKpUXDUCHRzwx4FtWiMe?usp=sharing
  16. That's so exciting! And so it begins!! I applied there and haven't heard anything yet. I realized I was missing two transcripts for UNCC's app (Not from the university I graduated from but from one I took classes from in high school and one I took a class from in college). I sent them via email right away, but I'm hoping that's not setting me back. Do you mind giving the initials of your POI? As for tips- I would say prepare like you would for a job interview. Make sure you know the school, the research interests of the POI who will be interviewing you (assuming it will be your POI), and have well-thought out questions prepared. I'd also say make sure you have your CV or resume on-hand. They'll definitely have questions about prior research, so make sure you can explain what you did and what the objectives of the research were. If you need some resources for practice interview questions, let me know! I currently work as a Career Advisor for undergraduates so I have some good resources! ?
  17. Awesome- I've also heard that we should be hearing back from Bowling Green in middle/end of January. @KB io psyched- not sure if you're applying there. Of course, if it's the waitlist, it could be April 15th ? Did anyone apply to any fellowships? I didn't the first time around because I didn't even know about them. I applied to the NSF GRFP in Oct. and finished up the Ford Foundation application today.
  18. I've heard from my POI at IUPUI that they will be notifying or at least reaching out by early/ mid-January. I would think any with deadlines of Dec. 1st may be at least reaching out in January.
  19. I'm super surprised that there aren't more individuals on this thread. When I applied for Fall 2019, there were tons of people posting. I guess that probably means there will be less people posting results, as well. That may be a good thing, you can definitely let it drive you crazy ? Well, this time around I can genuinely say I'm just excited to send in applications and get the ball rolling. I'm feeling more prepared this time around.
  20. Oh, nice! I thought that was a super cool thing they did, I haven't seen any other programs do that. It really gave me a better idea of each faculty member's research interests. I'm surprised this forum isn't more active, when I applied two years ago there were so many people applying. Either there's not as many applicants (great for us) or people just don't know about GradCafe. Either way, I'm excited to get the process started!
  21. I hadn't seen a thread for I/O Psychology Fall 2021 applicants yet, so I figured I'd start one! I'm two years out of undergrad and this will be my second application cycle. I'm applying to all PhD programs, BGSU, UNC-Charlotte, Clemson, ODU, CMU, GMU, Auburn, IUPUI, and IU Bloomington (PhD in Organizational Behavior through Kelley). It seems like most schools are waiving GRE scores this time around, which is great news because I'm not a great standardized tester. So far I'll only have to submit GRE scores for 3, which saves money on score reports too. My list has changed pretty significantly since last application cycle, mostly because I've had more time to prepare and figure out where I really fit research interest-wise. Where is everyone else applying?
  22. I wrote them physical "thank-you" cards and put them in their department mailboxes. I tried to say more than just "thank you for writing me letters of rec", like I thanked them for everything else they've done for me during undergrad, what skills they've helped me with, etc.
  23. Thank you, everyone, for the advice! I decided I'll go through with the TFA interview and see if I'm accepted/ make decisions from there. Has anyone rescinded offers yet? Not sure of the timeline for that, just curious!
