  1. Maybe March/April? You could go to the Results page to look for dates from past years. Best of luck!
  2. If I were you, I'd start contacting potential PIs and ask them to put you in contact with their graduate students. The students could give you Skype/Facetime tours and talk to you about other stuff you may be interested in. Congratulations on your admission!
  3. University Of California, San Francisco Biomedical Sciences, PhD (F19) Rejected via E-mail on 18 Jan 2019 ♦ A 22 Jan 2019 report spam I wasn't going to be extra about it, but I received the rejection email three different times, so in the light of that... fu** you too UCSF. I didn't want your overpriced housing anyway I'd be mad, too.
  4. Try to focus on other stuff. Go out, have coffee, talk to friends, etc. One of my PIs said that it is still early to worry. He stressed that I should at least wait until mid-Feb. I am sure we all here will hear good news soon!
  5. What...contact GEM asap!!!
  6. Makes sense. Now what? Back to the pool? Haha
  7. You can edit it in the signature settings - there's a bar like the one above in here.
  8. Yes, I have stalked them as well. Seems like they do waves of notifications. And I second that, my research interests are a perfect fit. Hope we three will get interviews!
  9. Penn is my top choice, too! Waiting on hearing from them like crazyyyyy.
  10. My status just changed to "Released"...when was I "Held"? ?
  11. hmmm...maybe cardiovascular/tissue engineering. I don't even remember mine, haha xD you're not alone-i'm here with you ?
  12. A friend of mine was notified about his admission about an hour ago. I want to believe they are being pretty slow?? Have you heard yet?
  13. Congrats!!! It definitely takes the pressure off the chest.
  14. I honestly don't know about those interviews. Way before application season, I talked to the Program Coordinator and one POI and they both said that first offers will be sent out by mid-Feb. Do they mention interviews in the FAQs? I don't think so, right?
  15. I applied but haven't heard anything yet. I did reach out professors as I worked there for a summer.
  16. I think this is in the Q&A PDF, but I think that if you intend to use the GEM at that school (number four), you have to apply before Jan. 15th even if its deadline is past the 15th.
  17. Congratulations @sirTintin !!!!!
  18. University Of Pennsylvania BGS, Biochemistry And Molecular Biophysics, PhD (F19) Rejected via E-mail on 10 Jan 2019 A 12 Jan 2019 report spam BS in Biochemistry at Temple U. 6 month undergraduate research in biophysics (wet lab), 6 months undergraduate research in Computational biophysics, and 2 years as a research technician in pathobiology at UPenn. 3 co-authors and currently submitting a first author paper. 4 LORs. Rejected via email. I'm a middleclass white male. I'm not saying I'm the best candidate, but if you arent a female or URM, you will most likely be rejected. On their program overview page it says over the past few years 61% were female and 31% URM. Good luck to all of you hard working white men out there! Classic. Lol!!! University Of Pennsylvania MCGD, PhD (F18) Rejected via E-mail on 13 Jan 2019 12 Jan 2019 report spam To the UPenn poster below... I am Native American and biologically female, have a second-author paper in Science and a first-author in a very minor journal, as well as 1 year of full-time research experience and all the works. Also got rejected. Top programs are always a coin-toss after a certain threshold is met, I don't think it has anything to do with your race or gender. University Of Pennsylvania BGS, PhD (F19) Interview via Other on 13 Jan 2019 12 Jan 2019 report spam To my fellow white dude below: I was given an interview at penn (as well as been rejected from a looot of other top programs). All of these programs are hyper competitive and it only begots bitterness to bellitle the success of others... even if they don’t look like you. Fight on! Hahaha, I'm dead.
  19. That one killed me. Some ideas for my upcoming rejections ?
  20. Hahahahahaha, oh my God!
  21. I've been told to take time off stuff - and makes sense. A PhD is more than commitment so I'd recommend doing stuff you probably won't be able to do in your 4-6 years of PhD.
