  1. I believe both UT Austin and UW-Madison are done sending out acceptances. UW-Madison made offers to ~230 people out of over 750 applicants. UT Austin I think made offers to ~100 people out of over 400 applicants.
  2. Maybe you've already figured this out, but I'll post this for others to see. According to my school's international services, you can transfer your SEVIS to your new school as long as your new program's start date is within 5 months of your old program's end date (5 months between SEVIS activities). As long as your F-1 visa (along with your I-20 and passport) is valid when you do this, it should be fine and you can stay in the US between programs.
  3. I figured I might as well post this since I know all my results. Time to have fun and start visiting schools! Maybe I'll see some of you at UChicago this Thursday lol.
  4. The stipends are usually higher at schools in areas with a greater COL. For example, $27k in Madison vs $34k in Chicago are appropriate stipends for the COL in those areas. This really depends on the school though. For example, UW offers only ~$30k even though Seattle has such a high COL.
  5. Just got rejected from Northwestern, my reach school. But I'm finally done waiting to hear back from schools! 5/6 acceptances ain't bad at all.
  6. I got into UT Austin on Dec 14 and I know someone who got into UNC Chapel Hill (is that the UNC you're referring to?) in January.
  7. UW sent out acceptances in December and January. I don't know if they're sending more offers. Notre dame sent some in January.
  8. I'm also international but with a US degree. From last year's submitted results, I do think they've sent most of their offers. You could contact them and ask.

  10. I got into UW-Madison back in December. Last week, they sent out an email that said "The UW-Madison Department of Chemistry received more than 750 applications for the PhD program and made offers to ~230 applicants" so I'm guessing they're done with apps for now.
