I think this is very bad advice. Please use Professor or Dr. As someone who has worked in a professional work environment for many years it would be a big mistake to assume these professors are now your friends. They just gave you the biggest opportunity of your life - now you have to earn your keep.

Can the northwestern rejects tell us which subfield they applied to??

Ok just got off the phone with Northwestern Admissions- they were vague but happy to answer my question. "We hope to have all of our accepts/rejects out in the next 1-2 weeks." I got no indication or feeling that all of the accepts had gone out.

Yup. According to the website they opened up at noon yesterday. My family is in Chicago so I am tracking NYC isn't AS cold thank goodness. Also- if you search other departments at Northwestern (outside of PolySci) there were still notices going out all this week.

Also - Northwestern is closed through Thursday due to extreme cold temps. "Provost Jonathan Holloway, President Morton Schapiro and Craig Johnson, the vice president for business and finance, said the University will continue operating “essential services,” including University Police, facilities management and dining halls, while the Evanston and Chicago campuses are closed. I am not writing off Northwestern yet - I think there are more acceptances to go out and crossing my fingers it happens soon.

Can the people from northwestern tell me what subfields they were in an if they got accepted or not? It seems like CP field hasn't gone out yet... Their website says they stagger admissions so I am not surprise it isn't all out and still very hopeful.

The FAQ page for Northwestern says that acceptances are not all sent on the same time. I am not resigning myself yet. Just got my rejection from UW-Mad. Expected but still hurts. My highest hopes are for NW so here is to hoping we hear something today...
