That's great advice, thank you!
-
Got it, thank you so much!
-
What are alt-ac resources? I haven't heard that term before.
-
Thanks! I actually already got that info in my offer letter so I'm looking more for questions to ask about the specifics of the program.
-
On a slightly better note, I have a phone call coming up with William and Mary to talk about their MA program. Are there any questions I should ask? What is important to know? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
-
Jeez. I know we've probably been rejected and there's just a delay for some reason but it is so hard not to get false hope when you see a ton of rejections on the results page and one hasn't come for you yet.
-
Anyone have Columbia updates? Did people who didn't have rejections posted yesterday get one yet? Still nothing from them for me.
-
Honestly, how hard can in it be to just upload them all at once? Not even trying to be snarky--actually how hard is it to do this? Seems like it should be pretty straightforward.
-
What is up with schools and their notification process? I never got an email from Hopkins when I was rejected (a week ago, still never got the email), I just checked the portal and saw. I'm thinking the same thing will happen with Columbia but still nothing on my end from them.

I cannot express enough how much I hate this.
-
Did anyone see the NYU acceptance just posted?
-
It truly would be shocking if not a single person on here who applied got in. It's also odd that the one acceptance that was posted never posted anything about it in this thread, which is also what leads me to believe it was a mis-labeled art history admit. That and the timing of that post was right around when they got acceptances.
-
Ha, I'm a W too. Although with Hopkins my rejection came only about 10 minutes after everyone else. This seems to be taking a while longer...
-
Does your last name begin with a letter towards the end of the alphabet? Mine does, and the same thing happened with Hopkins where I seemed to be the last one to get the official rejection. (My Columbia rejection is still yet to be posted) I wonder if these things go alphabetically?
-
Welp. Still waiting for my Columbia rejection...
-
I, too, was punked by Harvard. This must be a new update too because I checked my portal earlier today and it wasn't there.
-
Ugh I wish. My best guess is they sent out some definite acceptances and some definite rejects, are waiting to see if they get any immediate responses and then firming up the wait list with possibly a handful more acceptances (but if we haven't heard anything yet I'm personally expecting rejections).

Just got a phone call from a NY area code. I thought, could this be Columbia? NYU? Nope. The Police Officers Support Association. Thanks for giving me a heart attack.
-
Seems like they're doing it from POI's too, which is nice but means it will probably take a while for everyone to get their rejection.
-
My Columbia rejection hasn't come yet, but I'm mentally prepared for it.

Trying to focus on my work but it's SO hard. And my early American drink of choice is madeira. Speaking of whiskey, have you had Washington's whiskey brewed at the Mount Vernon estate? They use his recipe and 18th century tools and it's quite good (albeit quite expensive).

I turned off notifications on my phone for basically everything besides email because I'm tired of feeling a singular buzz, getting excited, and it just being one of my friends posting in a groupme or something.
-
Do we know if they've sent any first round offers? I would find it odd that not a single person in this thread applied and got in already if they did indeed send out a wave of offers. Though I did see that one post from last week in the results page.

Your research sounds fascinating as well! Border regions are such a hot topic right now and there are so many questions just begging to be answered. Especially when you focus on people left out of the traditional narrative as you are. I haven't heard of The Field of Blood but I'll have to check it out. Next on my list is either The Days of the French Revolution or The Expanding Blaze. I also just finished 1789 which was an incredible read.

It's going to be very long, especially now that I realized decisions don't only come during normal business hours. My email from W&M came around 7pm EST last night. I'll be on edge til I go to sleep.
