  1. CSDCAS opened up today! Hopefully it'll be a better experience than what I've heard from the past.
  2. Don't know anything about Chico... it's a bit hard to find out about a lot of the CSU's programs actually. It seems like they're definitely more competitive than the California privates though, which is why I'm still applying to Loma Linda even though I'm not too impressed with them. There's also Redlands, which is out in the boonies with Loma Linda. Chapman seems like a very promising program, and since they're just starting it (I think they're on their 3rd cohort right now?) I would think they'd take a longer and more open look at a decent application.
  3. Hi fsustar83, I felt like it was too early to post schools I'm applying to, but I sure was itching to! Not 100% finalized, but the lucky ones are: - Teachers College - University of Washington - UMass Amherst - Chapman University - Loma Linda University - San Francisco State - San Diego State - Cal State LA - Cal State Fullerton (where I'm currently attending as a postbacc) Trying to shoot for the big ones for out of state, otherwise looking to stay in Cali. Anyone else joining the madness this fall?
  4. Although the questions aren't exactly the same, I and many of the people here consider Powerprep to be the most reliable indicator of your score. It's best to study out of another workbook, then intersperse your study period with Powerprep exams to see how much you improve. Good luck.
  5. Like the others, I'd say Powerprep as well. The Kaplan CAT's not bad either. Powerprep #1: 530V, 630Q Powerprep #2: 670V, 780Q (did a LOT of studying in between these two tests) Kaplan: 670V, 730Q Actual: 720V, 710Q
  6. I know Cal State Northridge has an online program. The deadline for the new cohort is September 1st: http://tsengcollege.csun.edu/cds/
  7. Thanks for the reply guys. The thing is, I'm applying for this upcoming cycle so I don't know which program I'll be at... that's why I was wondering what the general trend is. sls144 - I thought so too, but the summer class I'm debating about has an optional lab... weird, I guess some out there are like that. I'm also nearing the two-year mark for my postbacc as well with 3 more classes left! Ugh
  8. Hey everyone, I'm currently a postbacc student trying to get all my ASHA required science courses out of the way before grad school begins, but it's confusing since there's a lot of different courses available. I took stats, so the math requirement's done (thank God ). For behavioral sciences, is it usually one or two courses required? And for biological and physical sciences, is any course under the bio or chem department okay or do I need a course with a lab? I know different grad programs have different requirements, but I was wondering what the general trend is. What are the requirements for your program? Thanks everyone.
  9. Thanks, I was wondering the same thing for my Oceanography class. As long as we received some kind of credit for the class we should be okay, right? I got a C :X Or would it also depend on the program?

    USC

Hi there, I attended USC for undergrad and I've lived both on and off campus. Usually grad students live off-campus, primarily because the priority for on-campus was given to undergrads. However, they're building a brand new housing building called Gateway that's opening up this fall (http://www.livegw.com/) and it's really big and nice. I'm not sure what the policy is for grad students, though. Off-campus housing isn't hard to find, though. There's pockets of little apartment complexes surrounding USC that's within walking/biking distance, especially around the 30th St. area. Some I'd recommend from having visited/friends' experience are City Park (I lived here), The Pad, Corsica (near the Shrine), and a whole bunch of apartments along Ellendale St. If you're willing to spend a bit more money, you can look into Tuscany. If you're looking more towards downtown, Medici's great too. There's a ton of options so no need to worry Good luck and fight on!
