  1. I am! We probably won't be hearing back from CSUs til waaaaaay later though. Yup. Mine was before my interview, they give you about 20 minutes to answer a very general prompt.
  2. On the supplemental application site, it says that they'll be posting results about 4 weeks after the deadline (2/1). I know this might be a stretch, but that means the beginning of March! So hopefully we'll hear sooner than mid-March
  3. Haha the thought ran through my mind - but only for a split second. I knew it'd have been waaaaay too soon for acceptances/rejections! I applied for the med track as well. Can't wait for next week!!
  4. I applied to U of W. It says 4 weeks from submission date which means starting the 29th we should be receiving responses! I have a countdown app on my iPhone
  5. Thanks Caitlin! If you don't mind, I pmed you with some q's about the interview.
  6. Anyone else applying to Chapman? Totally wasn't aware that prospective students already had a Chapman Gmail... turns out they've been trying to contact me for an interview from a week ago for an interview yesterday! And they miswrote my original email address so I pretty much got nothing. Kinda freaking out because now they think I want to withdraw my application. And also... boo to very unfriendly and unhappy admin assistants. Making an already stressful process more stressful!
  7. Wow congrats!! Hopefully the first of many acceptances that'll be posted for this year
  8. FINALLY done with all my apps, including going back to the school and asking for yet ANOTHER transcript for CSDCAS AU (ugh). These apps have been hanging over me for half a year now. Time to get me a massage and let the worrying kick in later...
  9. In addition to what was already said, one of my applications' requirements was max single spaced, 3 pages with 1" margins, 12pt. font (SDSU). It really depends on the school, so I'd call in directly or go to their website to make sure what they want exactly.
  10. I submitted my CSDCAS on 12/13, it showed up as verified a couple weeks later (not sure exactly when). The GPA calculations came out last week, and today my status changed to "Mailed."
  11. You just need to submit it to CSDCAS by the deadline. They'll take care of the rest. It sounds like there's sufficient time for them to receive your grades if you're sure they'll come out 12/22... but I decided not to do it juuuuust in case. You should do it if you think the grades are worth it!
  12. stacey06 - Since you're applying for 2013, why not take some classes? If you've recently found out about SLP, it might be nice to take an intro course or a phonetics course to see what it's like and get your feet wet. Plus, it's a great chance to boost up your GPA and let the adcom know that you're serious about the field. If there aren't any schools around you, there's always online courses you could take. Besides that, continue to volunteer/shadow and tutor! Good luck
  13. I've sent in my current transcript and planning to send the final one to the schools that ask for it/the school I decide to attend.
  14. Deadlines are a-comin! Submitted SFSU and Teachers College. Pretty much done with everything else except for a couple of essay tailoring and the recommendations... profs need to get on it! How's everyone else doing?
  15. I've heard terrible things about Long Beach's admin. They're usually one of the last ones you hear back from and the department is unreachable. I know CSU Fullerton has a multicultural class, but I just checked and the next semester's course is already filled up. :\ Your stats sound very similar to mine... it's good to know I'm not alone in this!
  16. Hey Astrid For the CA schools, I picked them mostly based on location. SF because of its amazing city, LA because I live so close, Fullerton because I'm already going there for postbacc right now. I like San Diego's program and that they have such a strong audiology program as well, it speaks out louder than some of the other Cal States. And I visited Northridge and liked their clinic. Chapman's not part of the Cal states, but I also went to visit them and it seemed like the profs really truly care about their students. Which schools are you looking at? 14 might be a bit much to handle... Try refining your list by location or program focus (which is hard I know since CSUs don't really talk about their programs too much).
  17. Yep just finished sending all those in! And it's a pain having the deadlines spread so far out, from December til mid-Feb... geez. Looks like we're applying to some of the same schools What area of speech are you interested in?
  18. I'm not familiar with the schools you've listed, but judging from a very surface level view it seems like the best way you can max your chances is to write a great personal statement and study study study to bring up your GRE score. Despite numbers/GPA (which isn't all that bad), schools do weigh in on your experiences and whether they were really meaningful or not, so make sure to push that through your essay. And if you're not sure about the strengths of your LOR, it can't hurt to go in and introduce yourselves to them and let them know what you've learned and the things you're involved with. Good luck!
  19. Where are you looking to apply? Do you have professors who can write you strong letters?
  20. How's everyone doing on their apps? Need to unload myself a little here... Just completed draft #4 of personal statement, getting it edited by someone at the career center tomorrow. Finally got three professors to write me recommendations, although I'm not so sure about the strength of one of them... Spent forever putting together their packets (with resume, copy of PS, envelopes, transcript, etc.) Got together most of my order forms for transcripts. Filled in most of the general info for the school apps... still have supplementals to do. Feels like I've been working on all this stuff forever! My poor printer
  21. In the same position, but I've decided just to send them now. Most of the school's deadlines are final so I think it's better to be safe. But as LLajax suggested, I'm planning on asking each school if they'll accept a complete transcript later on.
  22. Applying to 10 schools: GRE test + extra scores: $255 Transcripts: $205 (Ugh, tried avoiding going to multiple schools because of this, but 4 schools it is) Applications: $395 (Thank goodness for CSU fee waivers!) Total: $855
  23. I'm not sure if you're looking only for public schools, but there's University of Pacific in Stockton. Their program is accelerated, 24 months for those without an SLP background, and 15 months for those with.
