  1. Hello! To all those who were wait-listed at Columbia: I spoke to associate dean of Enrollment and Student Services and he said we should be hearing back about our final decision by Mid-March. I had emailed him asking if I could possibly hear back by march due to some scholarship deadlines and he was very friendly in his response. I also got an interview call from Columbia soon after as I am an international applicant. Those of you who have had interviews with them already, what was it like? Anything specific I should be prepared for? Thank you and all the best!!
  2. I have received 26K as a scholarship amount including 4k field award. It still leaves me with quite a hefty amount to pay. Considering appealing for more. Anyone have any success with appealing?
  3. Anyone hear back from GEMMA yet?
  4. Hi! I was just accepted today. Still waiting to hear on the scholarship, hoping it will be generous!
  5. Congratulation! What path did you apply for?
  6. I got into case western!!! My letter says I got a scholarship but I will only know the amount when I receive my admissions package by mail. Can't wait, really hoping it's a good scholarship because I will not be able to attend school this year without a scholarship.
  7. Me also! Any idea when we will hear back?
  8. Hey, sorry for the late response, just saw this. Its a course on leadership strategy for prevention of violence and abuse.
  9. Hi everyone! I got waitlisted from CU and feeling a little bummed. Can anyone give insight on how likely or not it is to be offered a place off the waitlist? Also, as I submitted my app a while ago, I have since started a new job and also enrolled in an online program at UPenn which is related to social work. Should I send across this information for consideration, would it help? They said I would hear back finally by April 19, but I am visiting NYC end of March, should I go meet them to discuss or would that be frowned upon? Thank you for your inputs!
  10. Hello! Those who have heard back from Columbia, how long after the "your application is complete" email did you actually hear back? I'm getting so anxious to hear back esp. because I don't want to miss any external scholarship deadlines.
  11. For those who applied to NYU by the Jan 10 deadline, I just spoke to admissions and they said we would hear back on or before Feb 21!
  12. They seem to be giving all kinds of mixed responses. I just got a very vague "within the next few weeks" response!
  13. Hey! Did you talk to the schools for this info?
  14. congratulations!!!
  15. Oh, alright! Thank you for the suggestion
  16. I did my undergrad in Psychology and I've been working as a social worker in children's welfare for the past 6 months. Before this, I've worked part time with a behavior change communications organisation, as well as one NGO that works on education for underprivileged children. In my college, i used to work extensively on gender issues and currently doing a fellowship on menstrual health management. My concern is that my GPA is low (2.9) so my chances of getting in are low I think. I am applying for the clinical (health, mental health and disabilities) track but also considering the child welfare one.
  17. I am also applying to Columbia and I feel ya! The essays are quite stressful. Any clue of when we would tentatively hear back if we apply by the Dec 1 priority deadline?
  18. Hi everyone! Can anyone give me feedback on Yeshiva University's MSW program (in person- two year traditional)? I'm applying to schools mainly in the NYC area and Yeshiva just told me that I would hear back within the next ten days and seemed very positive about my application. However, I've heard mixed reviews about the school itself so any insight yall can give me is appreciated. Thank you!
  19. From my conversation with different schools (in the NY area), if you're GPA is low, you should take a paragraph of your statement to explain why. Also, try to build up your resume further, do some volunteer activities etc if you can and work really hard on your application essays as those are very heavily weighted.
  20. thank you!!
  21. Has anyone who applied for traditional track heard back?
  22. did you apply for traditional track or advanced? I'm guessing they've mailed out the acceptances so I'm just waiting for my rejection now:/
  23. Anyone else hear back?
  24. Congratulations!!
  25. omg that's great! So hopefully by Feb 20th latest!
