Anybody here planning on going to AWP? I live in Portland anyway & am registered to attend and wanted to see if there are any folks (especially those who may have been accepted to the same programs) here who are attending. I can also recommend cute stuff to do here! Also, anybody else feeling super frustrated trying to schedule school visits? I'm part-time faculty at a local CC and we barely have a week off between Winter and Spring terms, which is also when AWP is, so I can't visit then anyway! Hoping some faculty/students from the schools I've received offers from are attending so I can meet & greet that way.

that's me!! just made an account to respond to this because i'm still so floored. my focus is american studies/poetics and specifically i'm interested in tracking linguistic change in radical/avant garde poetry movements! i'm also a comp instructor so i want to explore how white language privilege affects the creative writing workshop classroom, which is something i expressed in my SOP. let me just say i am completely floored by this acceptance. this is the main school i truly did not expect to hear from, and the rejection from the MFA 4 years ago still hurts, so this is some real vindication.
