Hi Congrats!! That's amazing, CUNY is a great program filled with some of the best professors and resources, I did my undergraduate there. Do you mind sharing your field of study?
Greetings and thanks, @theotherbrontesister! It really sounds like a great program. I applied as an Early Modernist with an emphasis on Milton. Hope you hear back from CUNY with good news!

@barshmie Hello! I'm one of the CUNY acceptances. I received an email from a professor in my primary field (curiously, not one of my POIs), which says official letters will be issued "in the coming days." It seems the profs are sending out personalized emails, so that may explain the lag between acceptances. All the best to you and those waiting to hear back!

@tacocat211 @The Wordsworthian Thank you! I applied to the English PhD program fresh out of undergrad as an Early Modernist with particular interest in Milton
Still waiting on a few more decisions but I'm extremely thankful to have heard back from Penn State relatively (abnormally?) early, especially as I feel I may have overreached/ am out of my depth given the number of well-read, accomplished, and lovely applicants this cycle.

Just realized there was a Penn. State acceptance on the board from Feb. 1? Anyone?? I thought Penn. State was a much later decision. Anyone claim this? Or has anyone else heard anything? or is this a rogue..
9 hours ago, The Wordsworthian said:I saw that too and posted here asking if anyone would claim it, but no one did. I have since been checking my application portal frequently, but nothing has changed other than a pending status.
Hello! I'm the Penn State acceptance from Feb 5 and a long-time lurker. I was worried when I saw the Feb 1 acceptance and cast Penn State off as an implied rejection. Checked the portal before and after I received notice of the acceptance (via phone call then an official email) and didn't note any changes. Perhaps they're informing candidates one-by-one as they secure funding/ POIs are reaching out to candidates in their own time?
I really was quite down on myself after the speculated rejection from Penn State and the (now confirmed) rejection from Stanford, but I guess all that worrying had absolutely no influence over either outcome so the melodrama I subjected my friends to this weekend seems silly now.

Just checked my portal and discovered I've been placed on their waitlist! Confused about my feelings but at least I'm not seeing the purple "No decision" anymore.
