  1. I am assuming rejections from all the schools I did not hear from. Last visits this weekend and it is decision time. What is going into your decision?
  2. The result page have a few acceptance and rejections from both Berkeley and UW. But no one in my school heard from UW (me included) and while visiting weekend (2 weekends ago) non of the students I talked to heard from Berkeley. Its strange since I heard their first visit weekend was last weekend, and the 2nd is this coming.
  3. People on here saying it takes a few weeks. Although everything I got included some details of the offer (not John Hopkins). Congratulation on your acceptance.
  4. Reject me already! I can not stand the silence.
  5. How is your lab organized? • Do you like to work one-on-one with your students, or do you guide their work as they work individually? • Do incoming students work on projects that have already been developed, or do they create an individual project? • How many hours of lab work do you expect per week of your students? Is there a system in place to track lab hours? • How long does it seem to take students in your lab to graduate (masters and Ph.D.)? • What are the students who graduated from your lab doing now? Did they go into academia, or are they pursuing other careers? • What is the academic community like at this university? Is there much collaboration between the faculty? • What kind of funding opportunities are there for a master’s student? For a Ph.D. student? • Do many of your students work in addition to taking classes and working on research?
  6. Can I ask, what stipend you were offered. My offer include about 26K and I am worried if its enough to live on in the area. Any insight?
  7. I thought dedicating my free time to checking the result page is hobby enough, no?
  8. I am sorry for what you are going through. I am not sure anyone can advise you on this, but here is my 2c. Working is a plan B and the game changes every year, different students and different school needs can change your chances. I only applied to schools I will be OK with going to, that way I only needed one. You have your one, go get your Phd.
  9. So its 2/13/19. There are still some schools I did not hear back from (no rejection, simply nothing). Do I assume I am rejected from them? Is the horrible waiting game over?
  10. Can you let me know how did it go in the Uchicago visit weekend? I am trying to combine them with Cornell, what was the agenda for Sat. Can I skip on Saturday all together and still be good?
