  1. Rejection from UTSC via email, with attached PDF of rejection... feels kinda bittersweet to finally get some closure
  2. CGS-D came out, for those who are waiting. Came up short this time... and probably the end of the road for clinical psych grad school chances this year. Good luck and see some of you next application cycle!
  3. Sorry I totally meant to include a reply to your dilemma, but it sounds like almost everything is held equal, such as your relationship with the POIs, your research interest at either school. I've gone through a MA already, and I've been screwed over by lack of care and attention from my ex-POI, which ultimately ended in what I call a 'divorce'. If you get a chance, I'd ask the grad students about their experiences, and trust me, if there were any red flags they wouldn't hesitate to tell you. If both supervisors are equally as appealing, then I'd say pick the choice that makes most sense geographically for you, since you mentioned that location is quite key. Hope this is helpful!
  4. Congratulations your offers, AND a CGS-M to boot. I wonder though, when were you rejected, and were you offered an interview? What form of rejection was it (SGS status, or informal POI email?) Thanks and best of luck !
  5. This might be a dumb question...but for example, if you're applying to 3 different schools and plan on applying for the tri-agency funding... would you submit THREE separate CGS applications? Thanks team!
  6. Anyone here waiting on the tri-agency Doctoral awards?
  7. I'm on the same boat as you
  8. Lol I'm still waiting as well. Haven't heard of any acceptances or rejections...just...bloody silence and waiting...... At this point I'm just waiting to hear back about the tri-agency funding / OGS
  9. I think someone on this thread has turned down a UTSC offer...but no one that I am aware of has been flat out rejected.
  10. It seems to me that that actually bodes very well for you; seems like schools value 1) strong academics (GRE, grades), 2) research experience, and 3) clinical experience (seems like you can get by without this if you have 1 and 2 nailed down). Just from what I've noticed though, especially in my case where I have an MA in a fully CPA accredited Counselling Psych program (thesis-based), and haven't gotten any offers. Hope this helps
  11. Those of you who are attending APA in Chicago later this year... we should meet up!! Would love to see everyone's research, or chat about their interests, it'd be nice to put some names to faces
  12. I dunno if people do this, but I've obviously written it in a much more professional manner and reached out to my UBC V POI when I got rejected in January, and potentially a way to inquire about the reasons why you didn't make the cut... if your relationship with them feels adequate for that kind of conversation. Certainly wouldn't hurt! But not necessary
  13. Ahh this is good insight, thanks! Gonna draft a "I've been rejected, thanks for your consideration" email to my POI hahah...
  14. Still no word at all (rejections/wait-list/official offers) from UTSC? Good grief!
  15. UTSC - It's really frustrating that no one has gotten REJECTED, to my knowledge. I do know that unofficial offers have been made though... so it could be anytime now that we get SOME sort of news. Seems to be the school with the LEAST amount of information...
