  1. Keep up hope! It seems only FLI scholarships were notified.
  2. ME TOO! can't wait to see all AFLI participants in Florida!!!!!!!
  3. AFLI Scholarship applicant. I've heard nothing. At this rate, I'm not positive everyone will get a decision today.
  4. Is it a bad sign if I am unable to login? I would assume the accepted students portal would be different than the application.
  5. Hey guys! Just got my French OPI results back and it seems like I fulfilled the Intermediate High Proficiency requirement! Now I *really* have nothing left to do but wait until the 18th (or so)!
  6. No worries! Thanks so much for looking out! I too received a second budget email, and took my OPI yesterday. Nothing left to do except wait!
  7. Thanks for your insight! This seems contrary to what I had heard. Before making my budget, I watched the AFLI webinar, emailed Boren a few times, and talked to past recipients. They all seemed to say the same thing: as long as I was willing to leave Senegal for a few days after AFLI (as in stay in a safe neighboring country) due to visa expiration, I would be fine to return for an additional few weeks. This is, of course, assuming that I hire a tutor, or pursue an internship that would give me 'Language learning" opportunities during this time. I guess we'll see if I end up getting the award!
  8. I received a budget review email for the AFLI scholarship. I suspect I only received one because I am planning to extend my stay in Senegal for about a month after the AFLI program is over.
  9. I believe only applicants for French and Spanish are tested before they receive the award. To study those languages under Boren you have to be at a certain level of proficiency to remain eligible. For French, you can only apply through AFLI, and you must be at an intermediate high level or above.
  10. I got a survey email. Today, I also got an email asking me to sign up for a language proficiency test. Hoping that's good news since the Boren Website says they only do that to "highly rated" French AFLI applicants!
  11. Hi Guys! I'm also applying for a scholarship to study French with AFLI in Senegal. Hope we all get it!
