  1. I think any answers you may get on here would just be speculation. Perhaps if you contact admissions directly they may give you some feedback?
  2. Hmmmm. I haven’t heard anything from Laurier yet. Guessing I’m waitlisted or rejected. Has anyone heard negative news from there?
  3. Okay I really need to hear from Laurier now........
  4. Ryerson and York are very critical. Ryerson is extremely AOP. From what I’ve read, U of T is pretty clinical across the board. AOP isn’t remotely mentioned.
  5. Has anyone heard from Laurier? Or have any idea when we might hear back?
  6. Last year advanced standing students heard around February 22nd. This year it’s not til end of next week. Seems like they may be running a bit behind this year.
  7. UPDATE - Angela from U of T admissions responded to my email. She said “Decisions for the advanced standing MSW Program will be out by the end of next week.”
  8. Nope. Nothing. I’ve emailed Angela but haven’t heard back yet. I will post here if I do.
  9. I’ve emailed Angela inquiring into when advanced standing applicants might hear back. I will post here if/when she responds.
  10. End of March is for the 2 year applicants. Advanced standing applicants hear back earlier.
  11. If anyone does want to contact Angela I think she responds faster by email. I’m trying to hold off still haha
  12. Nope. I’m not checking Acorn though. Just waiting for SGS / mail.
  13. Okay. I’m feeling incredibly impatient now!!
  14. My guess is that we won’t hear from U of T until next week now...
  15. I just need to clarify - no one has heard ANYTHING from U of T yet - right??
  16. They may have changed the system. Or it may not be the exact same time as last year. But judging by the lack of posts, it seems like no ones status has changed
  17. From my understanding - at U of T in particular, you are in classes pretty much 9-5 Monday through Friday. Did you apply for the part time program? That seems like it might be possible to continue to work full time while attaining your masters.
  18. I think U of T advanced standing heard around February 20th/21st last year. Not sure about Laurier though.
  19. I have emailed her a few time’s and she usually responds pretty quickly. However it may be a particularly busy time for her. Hope you hear back soon!
  20. You should contact Angela at admissions. She will be able to give you the right answer. Anything on this forum will probably just be speculation.
  21. I did mine as one answer including the two questions but honestly I don’t think it matters. They would have specified if it did.
  22. I attended a U of T info session, and they said that all the streams were equally competitive. They know that certain streams are more popular (like health and mental health, and children and their families) so they have more slots available in those streams than in the less popular ones. So applying for a less popular stream does not increase your chances of getting in unfortunately.
  23. I think you would benefit from doing the BSW program first. The 2 year MSW programs are more competitive than the 1 year (though both seem very competitive!) and getting the one year BSW will also give you the chance to raise your gpa. A BSW program will also give you the opportunity to give you more experience as I’ve noticed a lot of people who were accepted have several years experience working in the field / research work plus volunteer experience.
