Hey! Im not sure if tufts has already sent out notifications.. But I had to email a Dr. Sommers (social psych) and was asking for future reference about how many students they are accepting. He said this year they are hoping to admit 3 students in the social area.

Well FIU is one of the few programs that has the degree in "legal psychology" Also, they are a research 1 school. But I see them at a lower par then the rest. Socialpsych, Thanks, I looked at UC davis and found some legal psychologist in the developmental area!

I am still only a junior in college, but i was wondering which schools you applied to. Did you only apply to only forensic (clinical) or did you apply to any non-clinical (social) programs?

Hello graduate school prospects!! I wont be applying to graduate school til next decemeber but i do feel your pain. I am waiting to hear back from Nebraska about a year long research program and will be applying to four summer programs. I was wondering if anyone is applying to Psych and law area( jury decision making, eye witness testimony, etc) If so, which schools are you applying to. i have research the programs and i have found these schools : ASU U of arizona University of California Irvine University of Texas El Paso University of Illinois at Chicago Florida International Tufts Nebraska

Who did you want to work with? I wont apply there to next year but i would love to with with Dr. Sommers

MacDuff, What are your stats? GRE, GPA, research etc.

Does anyone with a 3.5 GPA have a chance at a PhD program? I just finished my first semester of my junior year. By the end of next semester i hope to have a 3.5. That GPA is what i will apply with to my PhD programs because as you know most deadlines are in December before grades come out. Also, next semester i am conducting my own research project as the lead investigator. Also, i have received an undergraduate research grant for $2,700 and also i am trying to get into summer research programs. Do you think my research will over take my GPA. I am also in the process of studying for the GRE.

I found out a few days ago that I will be spending next summer in Florida at USF- Sarasota doing psychology research. Now, the trouble is that I have to find funding for my trip and try to get paid for the research. The professor doesn't think she will get funded from the NSF. Does anyone know any good places that I can apply for funding? This next semester when my application goes through for Psi Chi, I will apply for funding there. Also, i will try and find funding through my college. Does anyone know any places that i can apply for funding? I really need to money so I can go down there, if I don't receive funding, I cannot go. This is help me tremendous because this teacher is a recent alum of the grad school I want to go to. Thanks in advance for everyone's help!
