Anyone? I know only one other person applying to the psychology program at Kentucky on this forum. It is weird that nothing has come across the forum ( except counseling which is from a different college).

This is my opinion- I believe coming from Brand name school and big schools matter. I am in psychology. So, if I went to a big name school, they would have different labs that you could get research experience with easier then my school. More professors would be getting grants so there would be more studies for students to work on. For my school, I am a top candidate. I worked my ass off to talk to half the staff to find someone to work with my idea for a research project. Then, I worked my ass off to get an undergraduate grant. Then, i worked my ass off to do the study and write a manuscript and get accepted into a regional conference in march. But, if I was at a big psych school, I could have done this a lot easier. There would have been labs with many people to help with these studies. The professors would be well known because they publish multiple articles each year. So, when I apply to grad school, these people who have A LOT MORE experience are getting picked. I thought I had a lot of experience, but people at these bigger schools do. So now, I will most likely have to go to a masters program and WORK MY ASS off more so I can look at least decent when I apply to PhD programs again. I just think you have more opportunity in bigger schools/ well named schools.

Well I am new at this long distance thing. But, all of last semester my gf was an 8 hour drive away. This semester she is spain and I am off to fly and see her in a few weeks. As long as yall still talk a lot and video chat. tt will be fine. But if you are a needy couple who spends every waking minute with each other, it will suck.

Do school notify you that you have been wait listed? Or do you just wait in limbo until you hear back?

Do most schools send out notifications if you are wait listed at the same time they sent out notifications when people are accepted?

Yeah I emailed Dr. Bottoms last semester and she told me she wasn't excepting students.

How long does it take to get rejected after the school sends out interviews and acceptances? A few of my schools have already sent out acceptances and interviews. This happened last week. Shouldn't I be hearing back from them soon?

I really want to email the programs that I know have sent out acceptances/ interviews so they can tell me if I am rejected or waitlisted.. It's so hard not to email them!

I am being ignored!! Many of my programs have already sent out interview invited. I wish I knew if I was waitlisted or rejected!

Some people have good luck contacting POI. I guess it just depends on the POI

When is it okay to contact your POI about your application? If it is okay to do this, what do you say in your email? I would like to contact a few of my programs if I don't hear anything this week, but I do not know what to say.

Yeah this happen to one of my schools. All the other schools had my school, but not one of them. I scanned in my results and sent them in. Go ahead ask call them and ask if that is alright.
