Deadline is Friday, no response from professor.
digits2006 replied to tem11's topic in Letters of Recommendation
Yep. I am in the same boat. I gave my prof TWO months to do this. I keep updating her on it every time I see you. As of now, the applications that are due today does not have a letter. Luckily the rest of my letters are due in Jan, but these two programs are the best. She decided not to be in her office anymore during exam week. I emailed her today and she did not email me back. -
You know, I think you are going to be okay. You scored HIGH on your GRE. You did better then 90 percent of all people taking the exam. You GPA is really great. You know, not all people can have a 3.99. A 3.7 is a pretty decent GPA. I think you are going to fine. Why programs are you applying to?

I am applying to some masters program at South florida, Florida, and Florida state.
-
Ya I have done that. But the two schools are not on there for my section. So I have no clue what they are going to do.

I am applying to two legal psychology PhD programs who have application deadlines today ( Dec 15). Any idea when these committees will start meeting? Part of me wants them to meet soon so I can find out my fate. But, of course one of my letter writers has not submitted her letters. This prof is my strongest letter too! Ahh. But, do you think that they will meet back in the new year?
-
Haha that funny because I am applying for a school in Laramie, WY.

Is anyone else happy that they applied this semester and not next semester? Like, I am glad because I think my GPA might lower a little bit this semester. So I am really excited that I sent all my transcripts from this semester and didnt wait to my grades were updated.

I think you will be fine if you are not applying to ivy league schools. I scored a 1100 and I think i am going to get looked at because of my fit with the research. It's all about how well u fit with the program.

Well I know many people are going to think that I am a asshole, but who cares. First, I am just an average student. 1100 on Gre and a 3.47 GPA. Luckily I have gotten a grant and done some research to make me competitive for PhD Programs. I love this forum and have been on here for over a year now and I have found something that really bugs me. It really bugs me when someone makes a topic asking if they have a good chance of getting into grad school. I click on it and they are like.. I have a 1500 on the GRE and a 3.89 and 2 years of research and 5 presentations and 2 publications. Sometimes I think these people just get on here to hear nice things about themselves. If you don't know that you are going to be competitive for grad school, you should not be applying. All these people are asking these questions as I sit here with a 1100 and a 3.47. I should be the one asking people for advice not these people with near perfect grades and research experience. That is just my venting on the forums. I know some of you might jump on my back but i mean if you have a near perfect score on everything, why should i comment on how well you think you will do. Okay, I guess i am done.

Developmental Psychology Applicants for Fall 2010-2011
digits2006 replied to yummybrew's topic in Psychology Forum
Well I am not developmental, but i am applying to work with a developmental psychologist. I am applying to The University of Wyoming to work with Dr. Nunez in legal psychology. She is in developmental but also studies legal issues. -
So, I decided to be a work-o-holic on my applications. The majority of my apps are due on Jan 15. I decided to submit 8/10 already. Now, i wish i didnt. It is so nerve racking knowing I wont find out anything until February or March. I did have one deadline on Dec 1 and 2 on Dec 15. I wish they decide quickly so I can hear back some type of results. AHHHHHH I wish it was March right now.

How to include a paper that I will be presenting on my CV?
digits2006 replied to a fragrant plant's topic in Applications
Does anthro use APA style citing? -
Ahh, this is a scary game. I think it will be interesting to come back and see this post in march. Well..for my 3 masters programs..I think i will get accepted from 2/3 but with no funding And for my 7 PhD programs: Outright rejections: 4 Phone interview..then rejection: 2 In person interview and acceptance: 1 As my professor always tells me " It only takes one." I just need one PhD program to accept me!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to see if anyone is applying to any legal psychology (non-clinical) programs.

Hey everyone! I am starting the whole grad application ordeal. Does anyone have any tips on writing the SOP. i dont know where and how to start. I think the hardest thing to write is the first paragraph. Does anyone have any good tips? Thanks!

Have you looked at the U of Alabama. They have a clinical program with a subfield of psychology and law. Are you just looking for clinical? Or are you interested in social ?
-

I am very interested in reach dealing with juries, police, interviewing, eyewitness testimony, etc. I am a psychology major and I know most of this falls into psychology but I know there are a few programs out there is sociology. thanks!

Thanks! I was awarded with a $2,700 grant and I am going to try to get all my hours in of research so i can get the full amount. I was already thinking about setting 1,000 of it aside for grad school applications and wanted to know if that was too much, but i guess that is just right! Thanks!

Yeah I want to apply to UCI. Loftus is so well known I am afraid this school will get a lot more applications because it is a UC school and because she works there.
