No this will not cause any problems. I have two Ws on my transcript and im wait listed at 2 PhD programs and accepted at a MA program.

I have been wait listed at the University of Wyoming. To pass the time I wanted to learn more about the city and the university just in case I do get accepted. Any info about the city, school, sports, and culture would be nice! Thanks so much!

Yes. I have done that to the 2 schools that I am wait listed. They like when you update them. Also, if they have to rank the wait list, you could get higher up there with this update.

Spring break does play a role. I know flagship universities that takes a week off from admissions for spring break.

I am currently wait listed at a university. I emailed my POI and updated her on some new things. She responded by telling me that she thinks that we should talk by phone next week. Also, this late in the game they don't have time to interview you. Hopefully they can let you know very soon so you can decided by the April 15 deadline. But many schools accept without interviews. You could try and email them again.

I have done the same. Send an email saying I am happy that I can have the chance to attend the school. Updates on the things that have happened since my application. There is no point in sending another letter because it all depends on the other people. It all depends on if you are ranked at the top or not.

I have been wait listed twice!!! I hope people start to turn down offers! At least I know that people want me. If i don't get in, I will apply again in two years with a masters and they would have to accept me, right? haha

Since your applying to the same program, I am guessing other people have applied to the same place. I think you should get into at least one program.

I think it's better to be wait listed somewhere then to be rejected by the program. I am wait listed and im happy that I am wait listed because it gives me a chance!

Ummm YES! If you are short list, it means, you are on the SHORT list. And you have a better chance of getting accepted.

Well my POI says my odds are pretty good. But, the Grad Director said that there are 15 people on the wait list which is scary for me. It seems that i wont have a chance if i am lower on the list I got my hopes up for nothing

I was accepted today at the University of South Florida for a MA in criminology. I am excited because there PhD program is ranked top 10 in the nation.

Hey everyone! I was just accepted at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Has anyone gone to this school or attended the criminology department. This is my first acceptance so I do not know if I am going there yet, but would like to start researching the area.

Well usually when there is one post, it could be fake. But if there are three different ones, it might be real. Most of my schools have already contacted people. I am trying to stay positive, but at the same time, not getting my hopes up.

I am only applied to a few masters programs. I applied for criminology at Florida State and South Florida. I applied to the Criminology, Law, and Society program at The university of Florida. I still have not heard anything back.

How often does ETS send over scores to the schools?

A rejection would be a little nice right now because no one is communicating with me. I emailed two people at a school who have already accepted people. It has been a week now and they never responded to my email. I just wish they would message me back and say that I am denied.
