  1. Can the University of Wyoming posters please message me your POIs?
  2. My "unofficial rejection" was from Oklahoma State. I'll DM you about the other school.
  3. Can the posters who were waitlisted or rejected from Louisiana State please PM me your POIs?
  4. I just had my first "unofficial rejection" (interview notification deadline passed and I didn't hear anything from them). Kinda bummed but oh well. I'm stressing more about the fact that I haven't heard anything from a school where the POI's research interests match with mine *extremely well*. A few people here have already heard back from that school, but I haven't heard anyone say they heard from my POI yet.
  5. Although I do not have any personal experience with the situation @Skibz described (since I'm currently applying for the first time, and my GPA was MUCH higher than 3.0), when I was applying to University of Utah, their application said this: "Your undergraduate GPA will be verified as part of your Graduate School Application. Please provide self-reported information below. The University of Utah requires an undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or higher. If your undergraduate GPA is less than 3.00, we will calculate a GPA on the last 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of your undergraduate course work. Please use the essay areas of this application to provide information regarding a low GPA." Below that, there were 2 boxes: one for "Cumulative Undergraduate GPA" and another for "Last 60 Credit Hours GPA".
  6. I got FSU's holiday email also. In the email, they also mentioned the dates that the school will be closed. I'm guessing that might be the real reason for the email.
  7. Based on the results page, a few invites were extended during the holidays last year.
  8. I would assume not like 3AM, but also keep in mind the USA spans 4 time zones (not even considering Alaska and Hawaii). So for example, if you're in the Eastern time zone, an invitation from someone on the west coast could come at a time you might consider "late" (like 10PM), but over there, it's only 7PM. I've received 3 interview invites so far. When adjusting for POI time zones, one came at 9AM, one came around 11AM, and one came around 6PM.
  9. Info about Oklahoma State: I just logged into my application portal and it said "For Fall 2020, interview invitations will be sent by December 23rd....Your application is still under program review."
  10. Could the person who got an invite from Oklahoma State please post or message me the POI initials?
  11. Well it's Harvard so I'm not optimistic about my chances, but it's a good match for my specific research interests, as well as my career goals (academia/research, NOT clinical practice), so I figured I might as well apply. I'll message you my POI.
  12. GPA was close to 4.0. I got good/great GRE scores too. I don't feel comfortable posting my exact numbers on a public forum, but you can PM me if you want more specifics.
  13. I applied to Harvard. Based on what I read on old threads on TGC, I don't think Harvard does an "interview weekend/day" like other schools do? Their application deadline also *just* passed a couple days ago.
  14. Go to the Results section of this website and type "Clinical Psychology [school name]" into the search bar. This will show you when people got interviews/acceptances/rejections previously. Interview notification timelines depend on the school. For several schools that I'm applying to, many of them seem to send out invitations around December 18-19, although some schools send them as late as early February. It also sometimes depends on the POI.
  15. What if you've already accepted an offer of admission at another school, or you've received an offer of admission from one of your top choices and therefore want to cancel most of your upcoming interviews except your other top choices? (This obviously hasn't happened to me yet since it's still December.)
  16. Texas Tech posters: Can you please post or message me your POIs?
  17. Some schools ask for your "last 60 credit hours GPA" in addition to your cumulative GPA. Some schools ask for your major GPA too. I'm not sure if this is something you should include in your statement of purpose, in the separate "is there anything else we should know" section, or ask one of your recommenders to mention it.
  18. They fund all their students. They don't accept a lot of students; the acceptance rate is pretty low. It's just that the tables on the page that I linked seem to show that out of the students they interview, they end up accepting most of them. The number of students that are "Interviewed/Short-Listed" seems to be very low. I am just trying to figure out if I am interpreting their tables correctly. Perhaps UBC defines "interview" and "short-list" differently. If those have different meanings, then that number could be misleading. Maybe they invite more people to interview and then make a short list after the interview. Also, UBC is in Canada, not the UK. Edited to add: Here is the link again: https://psych.ubc.ca/graduate/research-streams/clinical/. The tables are in the "Past Admissions" tab.
  19. I thought I was going to apply to 20-25 schools, since I figured that would increase my chances of getting in *somewhere*, but I've decided to cut it down to 16 to save time/money and enable me to focus on each individual application more instead of spreading myself thin. These are all Clinical PhD programs, except for UBC, which is technically an MA program: Auburn University Case Western Reserve University Florida State University Harvard University Louisiana State University Miami University (Ohio) Mississippi State University Oklahoma State University Rutgers University Texas Tech University University of British Columbia (Vancouver) University of Notre Dame University of South Florida University of Southern Mississippi University of Utah University of Wyoming
  20. I'm an American applying to Clinical Psych PhD programs. Most of the schools I'm applying to are in the USA, but I'm also applying to UBC (Vancouver). I noticed here (https://psych.ubc.ca/graduate/research-streams/clinical/) that it seems like UBC ends up accepting the vast majority of those who are "Interviewed/Short-Listed". Am I interpreting this correctly? So if I am invited to the on-campus interview, does that mean I'm probably going to be accepted as long as I show up to the interview and make a fairly good impression? This is really different from every other school I've seen that specified how many people they interview. All the other schools I've seen invite 4-7 applicants for each opening.
