  1. Do you already have a bachelors in CD/SLP? If you do, you need enroll in a SLPA program (Loma Linda, CSUN, CSUEB) in order to get the 100 clinical hours required for your license. I did Loma Linda's program and it took 3 months. If you do not have a bachelors in CD/SLP you need to do an associates program which is 2 years. These are the only options to get certified in CA. You cannot get your SLPA license without going through an accredited program. If you decide to go the former route then you can contact SLP's in your area to see if they can supervise you for your hours if accepted to a program. I would look up clinics on yelp and just call or email the clinic directors. Hope this helps!
  2. I am from OC and went to SFSU for my undergrad. Yes, it is expensive to live up there but you can easily find roommates and shop around. The area around the school (Sunset, Ingleside) is pretty safe for the most part and filled with students. I lived in the Sunset and paid 1200 a month for my own bedroom in a large house with 3 other people, but people I know shared rooms for 600. Transportation wise, the SF muni is included in your student costs so you ride for free. I would definitely not use a car as your main form or transportation to school if you are concerned about money, because parking is outrageously expensive and adds up fast. Program wise, I have some complaints, mainly about lack of organization, but it could be better in the graduate program. I also spent time as a clinic aide in the on-site clinic. Definitely not high end stuff (the cameras for the supervisors barely worked) but they have all the materials you could need and knowledgeable supervisors and professors. Overall I loved my experience there. SF is a fun place to live, especially if you're coming from a place like OC.
  3. I sent an email to them, but not expecting to hear back tonight
  4. I submitted just in case, but none of my personal information is on there so I doubt it means anything.
  5. So there's a bug on the application? Hope they fix this soon.
  6. Besides CSUN, do anyone know if theres other strictly fieldwork programs in socal?
