I'm also starting to feel the stress of the decision-making process. As a feminist, I love embracing my agency, but in this context I kinda just want to be told which program to choose. ?

Last night I received a phone call from Rutgers to confirm my waitlist status! I thought I would just have my acceptances to contend with, but adding two waitlists to the mix has definitely complicated things. It looks as if April could be a tumultuous month. Meanwhile, I am itching to get my rejections from Harvard and Columbia and to discover what on earth is happening at UPenn. -

Waitlisted at Rutgers as well! This was in response to an email I sent a staff member last week, so I'm not sure if other applicants will get waitlist notifications yet. Do not despair! -

Waitlisted at UVA. The email doesn't convey much optimism, but I'm glad to have something from a top program that's not a rejection. -

Thank you! I am trying to concentrate on my acceptances instead of my rejections. -

I also just got a Princeton rejection. It makes me a little sad, since I've thought of Princeton as my dream school for years. -

No Columbia news for me either. My subfield is 20th-century British lit, although my main POI does Victorian. -

While in the thick of writing my apps, I bought a purse on ModCloth solely because they named it the "Authentically Academic Bag." At least it was also on sale. -

My rejection showed up on ApplyWeb, so you're looking in the right place! I got an email telling me to log in for my decision letter. -

I am rather sad I did not get any admissions news today, but my spirits were lifted when I received my itinerary for my WashU campus visit! I am especially hyped to observe a meeting of their grad seminar on Feminist Modernist Studies. -

I am grumpily sipping some tea while dreading the prospect of yet another weekend of admissions silence. -

I really like Rope! Lady Vanishes remains my favorite because it was the film that got me into old movies when I was 14. It's the perfect Hitchcockian blend of thrills and humor. -

This thread has convinced me to break out the ice cream this evening. Also, I have to put in a plug for my all-time favorite movie, Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes. -

I don't have specific advice to offer, but I want to emphasize the importance of being honest with yourself. I believe it's crucial to ask yourself big questions, like what you really desire out of a career and relationship, and to reflect slowly and deeply, even when the answers might be challenging. Self-knowledge can be very powerful, in my experience. -

I am expecting today to be pretty chill and tomorrow to be the opposite. We've heard from @meghan_sparkle that Columbia will likely notify around the 21st, and I think Rutgers will accept people this weekend as well. ? -

Your research sounds intriguing! I'm also interested in women in antiquity. For a class on ancient Roman religion, I wrote a term paper on the symbolic role of the flaminica dialis. It was one of my favorite research experiences during undergrad. -

Same here! My department was also small, which I liked because you got to know the profs very well. -

Yay, another classics enthusiast! I also started with a minor, but my professors got me to declare a classics major at the last minute. -

I agree with the comfort of streaming services haha. I started Bones recently and am finding it a good diversion from the stress. -

Waiting on my Princeton rejection like that gif of Judge Judy tapping her watch.
