If anything we might just doing a version of the online program. I would be surprised if schools remained closed by then, but who am I?

I got rejected by UPenn yesterday. On the positive side, I got accepted to my top two schools. I think it also shows how much effort I put into them. I spent weeks writing my personal statements and essays for my top two schools. My other schools I did a lot of copying and pasting. I guess it shows.

Rejected today.

Don't assume the worst. Maybe they want you so bad but are trying to see if they can find money from different sources to give you a larger offer. Let me know! I interviewed on Monday.

In their last email I received from them they indicated they would be making decisions through mid March. So, probably within the next 2.5 weeks, yes?

Any thoughts out there? Sadly, WashU only gave me an additional $4000.

Congrats! They are one of my top two schools! I haven't made my decision at this time but who knows, I may end up seeing you there.

I am still waiting to hear back from Chapel Hill myself. But I applied January 2nd.

I'm trying to let them know that it is not financially feasible for my family to take out $70,000 in loans, as they are suggesting.

I am really curious how I should go about this when I don't have at this time a competing offer. I have two similar offers from two schools. If one was better than another it would be easier. At this point I am looking to email both of them and ask for more money but without a competing offer. To be honest, I really want an additional $20,000 but I feel like that is too much to ask for. However, if I ask for $10,000 and then ask for $10,000 more, that doesn't seem fair either.

That second letter is helpful. Thank you. You sent your expenses and expected income to everyone you had been in contact with? Or did you refrain in your follow up letters to include others in a CC?

How did you go about a second round of appeal? What did your email look like? Thank you for your new offer but I still can't afford that? I'm very curious.

UPenn was a little weird to be honest. I went in January, days before their semester started back up. Faculty and students were in and out of the buildings but because I was not a student I was not allowed access inside most buildings. I am not sure if it is different during the regular semester but I didn't have a badge. Maybe there's a guest badge? Just FYI. I saw the outside of most buildings and I was able to get a feel for the campus, but I only got to see inside one building. The security guard let me in to see a few classes.

They don't really seem to offer a tour. I spoke with Mary Mazzola to try to arrange a tour. She told me that I could come there and meet her but they don't do tours. I did go there and do a bit of a self guided tour.

Yes. WashU accepted me in January.

I applied Jan 2nd. Haven't heard from them yet. Fifth choice.

Do you think this was helpful? If you have heard back from the school how much extra did they give you? I want to find the right balance between not bothering people who don't make any financial decisions and letting people know who might have some weight or pull.

There hasn't been much love to this post in a while. Can anyone speak to whether the public transportation has improved in the last few years or is it still subpar?
