  1. Bahahaaha. That was me a few weeks ago! That I got accepted into CU and I kept telling my spouse that. He totally brushed it off. But it came true!
  2. Hmm, is it an obvious mistake? Or small? I doubt a school will reject you over 2 grammatical errors. Especially if it’s something easily missable.
  3. Clinical concentration! how about you?
  4. I personally emailed them and was told it was renewable in year 2. given you maintain a good academic record.
  5. Can I ask how much you received?! Yes it’s so difficult to go into debt for a MSW, that’s why I applied to state schools as well. But at the same time there are so many pros/cons to each and we’ll have to just weigh it out. And if a program really caters to your speciality, definitely may be worth the debt in the long run. Ann Arbor is pricey - but not as expensive as chicago. Ypsilanti is 20 minutes away, and is a lot cheaper to live in as well. And I’ve looked in Hyde Park, not terribly expensive if you can find room mates. But definitely would be a funner experience than Ann Arbor. Both programs are amazing, so I don’t think you make a bad choice either way. I had a friend in the UMICH program and she loved it, she got a job at a hospital for medical social work immediately after. I wish grad schools also offered scholarships for living expenses. But all in all - I think everyone should always consider what their 5 year plan is and if grad school and loans are worth it in the long run. I know I really went back and forth while applying, and remember saying I’d never go to UC or CU, that’s way too expensive for the same education id get elsewhere. But the more research I’ve done and the speciality area I want to work in, I realize it was an investment I was willing to take. Although I wouldn’t take without scholarships. Because I can’t imagine paying back $100k (even if this were a different field). So just depends again, what you’re going to do with your degree and how much the schools program is worth to you personally. When you go to visit either or - I can list a few fun/cool things to on campus if you’re interested. Good Luck!
  6. YESSSS!!! congrats Anna, so happy for you
  7. For sure, enjoy it and good luck with the program you chose! Keep us posted. I would of went crazy without this forum by now.
  8. Has anyone heard back from CU or UC unfavorably?
  9. Of course! I know the feeling, especially because there so many factors to consider when making this decision!
  10. My GPA was the least considered factor for my application. So I agree with your post! It all comes down to a combination of your SOP, LORs and Experience. As long as y’all paint a clear path of what you want to do and how the school can help you make that happen, I’m sure you’ll be fine!
  11. I’m highly considering it! It’s between CU and UC! Just depends if CU offers a scholarship as well! But I’m not sure how generous they are, as I’ve heard UC awards tons of scholarships. I so thought I was going to get rejected from CU, so I mentally crossed it off. And now I’m considering it - so we shall see! They’re both amazing programs. Good luck on your interview!
  12. Yay!! Congrats! Did you get a scholarship as well? Are you committing??
  13. Has anyone heard back on Scholarships from CU?! Waiting on that final piece of information so I can choose a school! Ahhh. And for all those still waiting, remember it’s only Jan! Decisions are being released all through Feb, be confident, hopeful, and may the power be with you! Y’all got THIS!
  14. The decisions currently being released are for those who applied for the Dec 1 deadline. I applied 11/20
  15. Yes same portal, it appears below your application submission date in the portal at the bottom of the page. Sorry you didn’t hear back yet - but I’m sure you will! There’s still a ton of people waiting. This year has been so interesting as decisions have been released completely different than the last couple of years.
  16. Yeah it’s for your first year and then renewable for the second! And yes I got a scholarship as well - but yours is more than mine! That’s actually a very generous offer as I’ve read throughout the years they range from $10k-$30k. UC only offers full rides for one or two students, based on a pamphlet I read from the school. So $31k for two years - is $62k scholarship. Now thats amazing!! Congrats, you must be a very special candidate and have Alot to bring to the table
  17. I’m honestly not sure! But I wouldn’t fret - as decisions are being released throughout the weeks!!! So maybe yours is coming up. I know our apps go through multiple review processes. (I called). Also - maybe those with scholarships will hear back earlier than later? That way if they decline, they can offer that to someone else with admission? I have no idea!
  18. The decisions are released throughout the weeks, so don’t worry y’all!!!! I applied 11/20/19
  19. My email came at midnight! Which is so weird, they usually come after 5 on a Friday!
  20. Congrats! Did you get a scholarship as well??
  21. Of course! I applied to the two year track in SSA - for the AM degree. and thank you so much! I have some hard decision making to do now that I have all my decisions!
  22. Scholarship amount is In The decision letter!!
