For what it's worth, I have no idea whether any or all other acceptances are out. In my acceptance I was informed that I was nominated for an additional fellowship, which I mention just because I hear that sometimes those notifications come out earlier than others.

I just got a Stony Brook acceptance!

Personally, I went ahead and submitted the January-deadline applications at the same time as the earlier ones, so none of my programs will see my grades from this semester, even though I expect those grades to boost my overall GPA a bit. But the difference wasn't too big in my case; I suppose it might be worth waiting if the change in GPA will be significant enough to affect admissions decisions. For my part, I wasn't taking philosophy courses this semester, so I figured since they care more about my philosophy GPA anyway, why drag out this excruciating process further for something so minor.

Relatedly, does anyone have a good sense of what sort of score or percentile is good enough to merit sending when it's optional to do so, more generally?

Hi all, I have already submitted my apps, so I am not looking for feedback on my own sample, but I would be happy to look at a paper for anyone who might need it. In terms of subject matter: I can be of most help with papers on (1) Plato or Aristotle or (2) contemporary or historical aesthetics or philosophy of literature. I can be of some help with papers in Ancient Greek philosophy more generally, French continental philosophy, or contemporary or historical philosophy of education. In terms of methodology and language: in my own sample, I tried to incorporate both analytic and continental perspectives on the relevant topic. So, I would be able to comment on papers using either or both approaches to the subject matter. I am a native English speaker so papers written in English would be ideal, but I could comment on papers which use source material in French or Ancient Greek.
