2 of my schools have people posting interview results today (UCSF and U Washington) and I have not heard from either, so not sure if I should take that as a rejection or if they do it over multiple days

Unless people are posting results for the *specific* program you applied for, it doesn’t mean anything. Try to stay positive! I’m telling this to myself too :)

    Hey dna1!

I still haven't heard from NYU Sackler. Hopefully we'll hear back soon :)

    Congrats to everyone!!!! :D

Did anybody hear back from NYU Sackler Institute, Weill Cornell or Gerstner Sloan Kettering?

I got a call from Weill Cornell inviting me to interview for IMP, but they said most invites will go out with the official emails in the next few weeks. I still haven’t gotten an email so I assume they’re not done reviewing apps

Has anyone ever received an email from UW genome sciences saying "Our admissions committee will be reviewing applications in December.  I expect to have an answer for you by mid-January, if not sooner. "? Does it mean they won't start sending out interview invitations until mid-Jan? This statement can't be confirmed by their historical records... Or it's just another way saying that the only news I'm gonna hear is something bad?... Super anxious:(

I also got this email a few weeks after submitting my app, I think they just prefer to send out personal confirmations rather than the automated ones. Not good or bad news:)

    Congrats on your interviews!

I see you've heard back from NYU Sackler. Is this for the PhD in Graduate Biomedical Sciences program?

Thanks and best of luck going forward :)

Thank you! I haven't heard back from Sackler yet, the only ones I've heard from are highlighted in blue. Sorry for any confusion! And yes I applied to biomedical sciences

  5. Update: Heard back from Hopkins
    UW Genome Sciences/Immuno/MCB
    UBC M&I
    NYU Sackler/GSAS
    Harvard Immunology/SSQB
    UC Berkeley Comp Bio
    Yale BBS
    Stanford Biosciences
    UChicago Biological Sciences
    UMich PIBS (Immunology)
    Northwestern IBiS
    UCSF BMI
    Weill Cornell IMP [Interview 12/12]
    Tri-Instiutional Comp Bio
    Johns Hopkins Immunology [Interview 12/13]
    UPenn GCB
    UCSD Biomedical Sciences
    MIT CSB

A lot of these are immunology programs, but I think they're still somewhat relevant here because I applied with a specific computational focus highlighted in my SOP (I'm a CS major with a life sciences minor)

  6. Update- Just heard back from my first program today!

    Here's my current status:
    UW Genome Sciences/Immuno/MCB
    UBC M&I
    NYU Sackler/GSAS
    Harvard Immunology/SSQB
    UC Berkeley Comp Bio
    Yale BBS
    Stanford Biosciences
    UChicago Biological Sciences
    UMich PIBS (Immunology)
    Northwestern IBiS
    UCSF BMI
    Weill Cornell IMP [Interview 12/12]
    Tri-Instiutional Comp Bio
    Johns Hopkins Immunology
    UPenn GCB
    UCSD Biomedical Sciences
    MIT CSB

It seems like Yale and UPenn have already sent out invites for the programs I applied to, so I assume they're both "no"s for me, but that's okay

Congrats to all who are done with applications, and good luck!

I applied to 9 programs so far: Harvard BIG, MIT EECS, MIT CSBi, Stanford BMI, Columbia BMI, Princeton QCB, Carnegie Mellon CPCB, UCSD BISB, JHU CS. I'm planning to apply to Cambridge and Brown if I don't hear back until January.

If you applied to any of these programs above, when do you think we'll hear back for interviews?

    Thank you all!

    Based on last year's thread:

It looks like schools will start contacting people next week. I know one or two places already have but they seem to be in the minority.

  8. Hey all! I'm glad there's a thread for this year, the one from last year was super helpful

I'm applying to a mix of biosciences and computational/systems bio programs, my undergrad is a CS major and microbiology & immunology minor. I applied to a lot of programs, maybe too many, but it'll all be worth it if I get even one interview right?

Here's my list, I'll do my best to update it as I hear back for those who are curious. I've coded the life sciences programs as yellow and computational programs as orange.

    School Program
    University of Washington Genome Sciences
    University of Washington Immunology
University of Washington Molecular and Cellular Biology

Harvard Systems, Synthetic, and Quantitative Biology
    UC Berkeley Computational Biology
