  1. There has been some discussion about determining Plan B after this cycle. Options include post-bac research positions, clinical work, and master's programs. There are MANY master's programs in psychology, either clinical or general/experimental/research, that provide funding and offer really good training to help build experience before applying to doctoral programs. This is not an exhaustive list, but a good start, and may help you think about and identify similar programs at schools near you. So many of you have great experience and would be very competitive at many of these schools, particularly the research-based ones, as they tend to get much fewer applications than clinical programs. Middle Tennessee State - Clinical University of Tennessee - Chattanooga - research University of Memphis - research Missouri State University - clinical Cleveland State University - clinical University of Dayton- clinical Western Kentucky University - Psychological Science research Murray State University - clinical and research Morehead State University - clinical University of Kentucky - counseling MA - specifically for those interested in pursuing Counseling PhD Eastern Illinois University - clinical Illinois State university - clinical Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville - clinical Ball State University - clinical Eastern Michigan University - clinical Western Carolina University - clinical University of South Carolina - Aiken - clinical Catholic University - research Wake Forest - research College of William and Mary - research Villanova - research UMASS - Dartmouth - clinical and general Northwestern Feinberg - clinical research (1-year master's) Fordham - clinical research methods
  2. I'm wondering if anyone has heard from SUNY Albany? It looks like their interview is scheduled for 2/27, but I haven't seen any posts on the results page about interviews (unless I missed it). Thanks!
  3. Texas Tech (Clinical) is sending out all invites by Friday, 1/15. Some faculty have already finished, but not sure if all have.
  4. I have heard from one person who did a prelim interview the first week of January. They have not heard back yet about official offers. DM for POI.
  5. Miami University is having interviews on Jan 19 and 22. I think most invites have gone out, but I can't speak for EC specifically.
  6. Some schools let you know at the review stage that you are an alternate for an interview. Some will not contact you at this stage even if you remain on the shortlist. Unless you receive an official rejection, assume you are still in some kind of applicant pool. It's awful to keep waiting, but my best advice is to be patient and wait it out. Anything can happen during interview season, and contacting POIs in March is better timing to get response about your possible chances at that point - they will have a much better idea of how things are shaping up with their incoming cohort and they aren't as busy reviewing and interviewing applicants and will be able to respond more easily.
  7. For all schools, if you don't receive an interview invite initially, it does not necessarily mean you are rejected. You are not rejected from any school until you receive an official rejection. Some programs send them out much earlier than others and some wait until after April 15. If you don't hear from a school, assume you are still on a list somewhere. There is always a slim chance that programs/POIs go back to their shortlist if someone declines an interview, or even accepts an offer somewhere before other interviews have even taken place. This year is going to be even more unpredictable because applicants don't have to travel and cancel plans if they decide not to attend an interview or take an early acceptance somewhere. The wait is agonizing, but unusual things do happen sometimes!
  8. I am pretty sure Southern Miss has sent out invitations. I know someone with an interview invite from NC. Not sure if all POIs have sent invites yet.
  9. If anyone knows if University of Wyoming has finished extending interview invitations, please send an update! Especially for POI CP. Thanks!
  10. Make sure you are in a room with a neutral background and that you are somewhere where you will not be interrupted or have loud noise from outside the room.
  11. You can never go wrong with a dark suit. My advice is to not use your appearance to stand out - you never know what will make you "stand out" for the wrong reasons while interviewing. I would keep things basic and not too flashy.
