  1. Got an interview invite for Mount Saint Vincent (MSVU), but I will be declining because I’ve already accepted the offer at my top choice school.
  2. Congratulations to individuals who reported acceptances to Ryerson! That's so exciting!!! Just today, I officially accepted my UAlberta SCCP MEd offer and declined my UCalgary SACP MSc offer. It was kind of scary hitting the accept and decline buttons because now the decisions are really official! ?
  3. Got an email at 3:57 p.m. to check my grad portal for UAlberta. Please confirm I'm not dreaming!?! I got accepted into UAlberta's SCCP MEd program!!!!! I'm SO happy! I've been working toward this goal for a long time. This is the happiest day of my life!!!!! Though, just last night I realized I had an error in my statement of intent. I somehow said I wanted to work and live in the field of SCCP; I had a good laugh over it. I do think, to some extent, academics "live" in their fields anyways. I think I will tour the UAlberta campus before accepting just to really, really make sure that's where I want to be (especially because I'm either going to have rent or sell my house in Calgary now), but I plan to release my UCalgary MSc SACP offer in a week or two.
  4. Has anyone received any updates about UAlberta’s SCCP MEd program? I see the counselling program has started sending out notifications.
  5. Sorry to hear that. I suspect that must be disappointing. I’ve heard it’s a very competitive program. One of my friends got rejected from that program two years in a row, though you never know who will and will not accept, so I’m sending you positive vibes for good news later on. My SCCP UAlberta MEd application is still under review, so I don’t think they’ve made final decisions for that program yet.
  6. Congrats! I'm very happy for you! ?
  7. Although the letter was sent via email yesterday, the letter itself was dated Feb 7, so I guess they are giving me exactly one month to decide. UAlberta is my top choice though, with SCCP and OISE being tied for second with UCalgary, so I do hope I get some updates from UAlberta and OISE this month.
  8. Checked my SGS portal and it still says the application is under review.
  9. Congrats! It's even more exciting when the official letter comes.
  10. Got my official offer via email today for UCalgary's MSc in School & Applied Child Psych! The deadline to accept is March 7, so I do hope I hear from UAlberta and OISE before then, so I can make an informed final decision.
  11. Mine in still under review too. I was (and I guess still am) curious because based on the results page some people started to hear back in February in previous years, so I’m still ??! When I spoke with the grad secretary about admission stats during my application process, they said last year the program took around 7/100 applicants, so I’m hopeful, but struggling with trying not to get my hopes up too much. I’m sure many others can relate to that last sentiment.
  12. Did anyone else on here apply to SCCP at UAlberta?
  13. I think it’s important to remember we’re interviewing these grad schools as much as they’re interviewing us. The application fee for OISE was easily the highest fee I had to pay, the timeline was the earliest out of all the programs I applied to, and the school has had our applications for almost three months now. If they are planning on conducting interviews (or even if they’re not planning on doing them), I think it’s very reasonable to expect a shortlist could be developed in a three-month span, so I do hope someone hears something soon!
  14. Makes sense. It sounds like an interview is a very individual decision based on each professor.
  15. Haven't heard anything from SCCP at OISE either. Are we sure they do interviews?
  16. My UAlberta application status for SCCP indicates my application is under review. Though, if they’ve started sending rejections, perhaps that means acceptances are pending. ??
  17. ? ? ? Nope, I haven’t heard anything, but my CV is long. They’re probably still reading the darn thing. ???
  18. I applied for the SCCP program at OISE/U of T. I haven't heard anything from them.
  19. Haven’t heard anything from this program since initial contact with POIs in September and October. I’m going with the no-news-is-good-news saying.
  20. I received a second email from a POI/prospective supervisor at UCalgary regarding the MSc in School & Applied Child Psyc. The email stated I’d be receiving a letter in the mail from their grad program in the next few weeks. Hopefully I’ll also hear back soon with good news from the other schools I applied to.?
  21. My UAlberta application status changed to "Under Review" today.
  22. I also applied to that program. I made initial contact with prospective supervisors around September and October, but I haven't heard anything regarding the application since then.
  23. Got an email today from a prospective supervisor in U of C's Msc School and Applied Child Psych program. The email indicated I was "favourably ranked for an offer of admission." It looks like this individual is hoping to connect for an informal chat, so I feel hopeful!
  24. Did anyone else apply to the SCCP MEd program at UAlberta? According to their grad portal, my application is still in pre-screening. Is that what your system says too?
