I have to wait until the end of this month to really find out if UNLV is gonna take me or not. I’m also still in purgatory for Iowa and VCU. I just feel like I’m in purgatory in general tbh.

While trying to make plans (in case this all goes south) I sent the wrong resume to the corporate office of my current job and I can’t fix it. I guess I’m not taking the possibility of a clean sweep of rejections seriously enough. I know this isn’t how anything works, but it feels like after all the shit I’ve gone through to get this far that I should at least see a light at the end of this tunnel.

Uh, so I never noticed the 2nd poetry acceptance for IWW. If you search “Iww poetry” it comes up. Looks like there weren’t a lot of accepted poets on gradcafe this year, either that, or they’re rolling out poetry acceptances super slow.

Huh, I wonder what happened to all the poetry acceptance notifications, that’s a bit concerning.

Do you think this is for poetry too? Or just fiction? I’m nervous.

All these creative writing acceptances that aren’t mine are really killing me.

Made a strawberry pie, wish I could serve some to the rest of you so we could nervously eat it today. It won’t be set for a few hours, so not even I can eat my stress pie.

Besides that one international acceptance for Iowa, there haven’t been any acceptances for poetry yet. My theory is that this person was accepted to their international program (based on the U next to their status), considering how there are so many of us on Gradcafe and no one else has posted an acceptance. I think poetry is behind this year, again, just like last year. If we don’t hear by the 6th, then we can panic.

Same here, I’ve been terrified of not getting in anywhere. A lot of people really had faith in me that I’d get in somewhere and so far it was faith misplaced. I also don’t have any publications, and I, somehow, timed my submissions so that I’m getting rejected by schools AND magazines at the same time. I have a theory on the Iowa poetry acceptance though: Maybe it was an international person getting into the international program they have there. That would explain why we haven’t seen other acceptances for poetry.

In between all my anxious weeping, the one thing that made me stop and smile today was the Vanderbilt rejection with a note about the rejection letter being written by a lizard person. That’s how I felt about the Syracuse letter which didn’t even have my name in the email.

OMFG there’s an Iowa poetry acceptance. I’m so scared. Idk when this happened but I’m gonna cry brb.

Time for a triple post because anxiety is compelling me to babble. Is 5 pm (in their time) generally the time that Iowa stops calling people? Or are there exceptions to the rule? Do we even know the answer?

Update, tiny painting was going so well until it wasn’t. I started painting a portrait of a baby and ended up finger painting at the end so that’s how that went.

Impulsively bought acrylic paint and tiny canvases (4 inches x 4 inches). See ya’ll later, I’ve got some tiny painting to do.

So, there’s a meme on draft memes tumblr that’s poking fun at trying to arrange housing from 1000 miles away. Fun fact, that’s approximately how far I am away from Iowa. And UNLV? 2500 MILES. WTF.

Well since there’s no debunking this, I’m also gonna hop aboard this train and add my own car. Since more and more people are applying, the same amount of people reading, and this being an election year, maybe we’re just going to be hearing late from a bunch of schools.

No one’s heard anything yet from UMich? Weird.

So I just have this feeling that today is going to be either a bloodbath or a great time for a lot of people, cause it’s Friday and schools like to do that to people. Idk about Iowa applicants though, there hasn’t been a peep about poetry or CNF and fiction is at a stalemate. Good luck everybody.
