I was waitlisted last year for Western and I was in the 2nd quadrant. I never got off the waitlist. Last year it only got through the 1st quadrant. I am in the 3rd quadrant this year for the waitlist, so I'm not very hopeful
Likewise, as CCSLP94 mentioned the system is unforgiving for outliers! I have mostly A+ and a couple A's with the exception of a bad semester in third year with a C and a C+ and my average was brought down significantly leaving me with a 3.7 subGPA. Mind you, I've been told that some schools look at you more holistically and if you did uncharacteristically bad in one or two courses but overall excelled they will take that into consideration.
Hi everyone and happy Holidays!
Second time applicant here!
Good luck to everyone in your application processes, it is super stressful but also remember that it is also a very exciting time! I got waitlisted at Western and Dalhousie last year with a subGPA of 3.64 and didn't receive an interview with McMaster. After retaking a couple courses I am applying this year with a subGPA of 3.71. If anyone else would like to estimate their GPA according to OUAC I recorded some of their grade allocations from last year:
A+ = 4.00
A = 3.90
A- =3.70
B+=3.30
C+= 2.30
C = 2.00
Add up your most recent 20 grades on your transcript and divide by 20. Best of luck everyone!
